About Me

CURRENT MISSION

2 months to learn as much American history in Phily before I move to Europe

ABOUT ME

Like my Grampa used to say "I'm the fastest, the smartest and the prettiest".he wasn't any of the three. I like to laugh. Love music from everywhere. Read in the bathtub. Smoke outside. Like to dance with my shadow that happens to dance far better than I do. The only thing I'm an expert on is myself. I still question that. I don't mind doing dishes if I can have on music. I eat anything but don't like mustard. I love my Dutch girl, baseball, & gatos, old jukeboxes in bars, home-made homes, Oscar the Grouch, writing short stories, writing long stories, writing poems but not reading them. I believe I will always have more stories than money and am willing to get rich to prove I'm still right...

PHILOSOPHY

I never want to met a person I can not empathize with. And from that ideal I've gone to some place most people wouldn't. But to pick up an object you need to get below it. It holds true with people. If someone needs to be carried for a moment you need to understand what it is to be below such as water is the humble for it takes the lowest place there in is it's strength. I lived through a lot of chaos so now I feel much more at ease sharing the stories. To be the teacher yet always learning....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well a good friend turned me on to this. I have 2 months I am without home. I have always wanted to see Philly and stay with people that know the town you're in is a huge help.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once I hung out with a guy and we had a blast. I needed to move in a month and he offered his couch. Well he forgot all about it and wound-up becoming my best friend. When his mother came to visit I had a cat named Soup and she hated him. She'd say "Dan I Love you, but I hate Soupy Gato, I hate Soupy Gato".. it became the name of my music show years later. Good things happen with trust of folks you might not know so well but know you are in the right place...

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

YES! LOve'em.... to name 3 of each... The Princess Bride, Ghost Dog, Crossroad (the one about the blues) Music: Stevie Wonder, Richard Wagner, Soul Coughing... and The Electric Mayhem...Books: Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Tao Te Ching, Narcissus and Goldmund.....and ...Where The Wild Things Roam..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Greatest... Muhammad Ali has heard the name The SoupyGato Show....I really dig that.

With the show we did showcase of just music of Israel, Scotland (8 shows,100 bands), GLBT artists to show sexuality plays no part in good music, and Tibet where we helped raise more money for Tibet.org in the month of running the shows than the rest of the year combined. I'm still proud to know that children that I may never cross paths with got maybe just another book or another lesson and will never know it was because of a crazy music show...durning that time I had a chance to see H.H. the Dalai Lama give a lecture and a guide a meditation...

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow... wonderful concept. I can teach a 5 minute Tai Chi form. I can also teach a start on playing bass and the different uses for different styles of music. Yes I could teach both in a practical and slightly empowering way. I have taught in the past, so yes I'm up for it. In time and ok'd by the future wife.

I'd like to learn money managing skills. I was honestly never taught. and I know it seems simple, but I learned from my mother and she is worse than me.
