About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See everything I can, be adventurous & spontaneous.

ABOUT ME
I have moved!! From the sticks and closer to the city! I'm inside the 435 Loop now and in an area called Waldo. I have a dog named Buford who loves meeting new people and is a ball of energy. I do as much travelling as I possibly can with my 2 measly weeks of vacation and between that time I like to offer my extra space to other travelers. I like to hear your stories and learn what I can.

PHILOSOPHY

"Live like there's no tomorrow, Love like you've never been hurt and work like you don't need the money."

"Worrying today does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles; it only drains today of it's strength."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One day I plan to do my own "Eat, Pray, Love" adventure using tools like couch surfing and am "paying it forward." For now, while I live this "settled down" life I would like to offer all the huge extra space I have to other fellow travelers.

Interests

Horses - I used to compete in Rodeos and what not. I'm pretty much the best pole bender, ever. Looking to get back into it.
Computers/Programming - It's what I do.
Adventures - I'm pretty crazy, open-minded, and 'love trying new things' would be in under-statement. I have to do everything at least once.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Dubstep, dance, blues, jazz, upbeat classical, almost anything that's live except screamo rock.
Movies: Anything about secret agents. Comedies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Half of the Mongol Rally.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food! Eat it up, seriously. It's just me and a lot of stuff spoils before I get to it.
Lots of space.
Extra bedroom with queen size bed.
We can stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet or check out Westport. I'm also open to any suggestions or anything you'd like to do on a particular weekend. We can do any of it.

To most I've hosted this is simple and comes natural but to others that seem entitled the house rules need to be reiterated.

House Rules:

1. I don't mind you eating my food but don't open unopened packages without asking. My food does spoil before I get to it but unopened packages don't spoil as fast and I may be saving it for a specific recipe. Use common courtesy and just ask before.

2. Don't leave your personal bits in the shower or on the floor. Leave the place like you found it or better.

3. Make your bed before you leave.

4. 15 minute time limit in the shower(water running). If you are going to sit in there and drain my hot water tank, i will kill the water to the house. 15 minutes with the water running is more than enough time. I can shower and get dressed in 15 minutes. Be respectful of my space and my utility bills, please.

5. Don't request to stay as 1 traveler then bring a local to stay with you after a night out with your local friends. If you have local friends, stay with them. This defeats the purpose of this site.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom
