About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Recently retired and moved to the Central Oregon Coast. Published a book and several articles on intimacy and the chakra system. Just finishing memoir about the years 1965 to 1995. Offering Relationship Coaching by phone, Zoom or Skype.
ABOUT ME
I love traveling, conscious travelers, and great conversations. My body has slowed considerably, and my mind is a bit less sharp, but both my husband, Gary Stroup, and I have "miles to go before we sleep." We are planning a three week trip Summer of 2024 in the St. Louis, Nashville, Knoxville, Covington, Ohio.
PHILOSOPHY
We must first like who we are before we can be in relationship with another. Sometimes, I want things MY WAY -- but get over it quickly. Most of the time, I prefer letting go of control. These days my body is often NOT flexible due to severe and unpredictable arthritis. I work with CHAKRA centers in the body and feel better when I do my daily practice of stretching. I used to love to cook healthy and natural foods, not so much anymore. I love when someone offers to cook, and to eat in ethnic restaurants. I like being around people who take their health seriously. What we eat and the activities we participate in make a difference in the way we feel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a great way to connect with others, and give back as well as pay forward. I have stayed with Couchsurfers in many US cities and have hosted many guests. These encounters are always beneficial. I traveled in Western Europe with SERVAS and Hospitality Exchange before the internet. Sharing like this is a wonderful idea!
We would love to host you near several State parks along the Pacific Coast and the National Sand Dunes. We offer a private guest room with a wood burning stove near our 900 sq. ft. home, or you are welcome to pitch a tent near our geodesic dome. We have an outdoor flush toilet and inside shower to share as well as a small kitchen.
It's never real cold or hot in Oregon, but can be both on the same day, with a range of 40-80 degrees year round. The best advice is to dress in layers.
Interests
Reading and writing, being out in nature, lively discussions, relationship interactions, psychology, mindfulness. My grown children and grand kids, sisters, one brother and other family members are a big part of my life. We do not live close to each other, and I miss them. You will be treated like family in our home.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like movies with depth of meaning and books with philosophical questions regarding metaphysics. Gary likes Science Fiction and adventure movies. We both enjoy classical music and jazz, but will listen to most anything, it is all about variety for both of us. Mostly I appreciate silence these days, listening to the sound of the whispering pine trees.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done many amazing things so it's hard to pick just one. My children, my family, my relationships, teaching college level courses and publishing a book are high points, as is traveling. Living on the East and West Coasts before moving from Mile High City with a fantastic new friend and lover has been amazing.
I am almost finished with my second book: A journey of sex and spirit (a memoir).
Teach, Learn, Share
The title of my first book Exploring Intimacy: Cultivating Healthy Relationships through Insight and Intuition, is what I think about and teach about. We also host drum circles which helps to raise the vibration of the planet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My knowledge about the body/mind connection, lots of opinions about spirituality, and background of a variety of religious experiences.
