Hi my name is Stasia! I've been living in Olympia, WA for the last 7 years. We don't get too many tourists around here, but it was the original home of Nirvana and Bikini Kill in the early 90's and we still have a very active TRULY underground music and art community thriving now! I play music around town and occasionally tour. I would love to get to tour outside of the country someday soon. Before WA, I lived in Brooklyn, NY studying sculpture at Pratt Institute for two and half years, although that feels like a century ago... i still dabble in visual art for fun :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had a couchsurfing profile 6 years ago and I don't know what happened to it! I traveled around Europe (the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic) with a college friend. My hosts and the other people they introduced me to on the trip made my time SO much more special and human than it could have been otherwise! I remember couchsurfing in Leipzig made me want to move there! When I lived in Brooklyn, I hosted semi-regularly and I found it a very rewarding experience as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived a motorcycle accident last year...and while I was still on crutches, I was in The Birthday Party cover band as Rowland Howard! also, just hanging out at Lake Cushman in WA during the summer is a sublime experience.
