About Me
Hi! My name is Stefania and I'm 20 years old. I grew up in Romania, a really beautiful country (the one in the form of a fish on the map), with unique traditions and great landscapes. I have a lot of hobbies at the moment because I always like learning new things, and some of the most important ones would be traveling, reading, watching movies, also some series, playing the piano (I've been playing it for 3 years now, so it's kind of a new hobby), writing from time to time.
I have a big big love for languages, the one I've been learning for a while (besides English) is German, and I think it's still gonna take a few years until I can master it completely...I really hope Oscar Wilde wasn't right with that "life is too short to learn German" thing. I'm also studying it at the University in Bucharest, with Swedish as second language, and I'm really happy with the choice I made, because I also have a big passion for the nordic culture and of course for the melody of the Swedish language. :)
I enjoy going out with my friends as well, we usually go to a bar, drink something and talk about everything that happens in our lives, around us, in the world and so on. Clubs are not always for us, but we like dancing from time to time :D. And when we don't feel like talking too much with each other, we go to the theater or to the cinema.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really love meeting people from all over the world, I've done this before in Germany and in Sweden, but i believe that it's never enough. Everyone has something to share with you, from stories about their cultures to recipes of a traditional dish or a funny word in their language. I truly find this the best thing on earth, and this is why I joined Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into rock music (classical, alternative, indie-rock, folk), progressive metal, grunge sometimes, jazz, blues, classical music. I usually listen to Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, John Frusciante, Guns'n'Roses, Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, Mad Season, Morphine and many many others. When it comes to composers, I would say Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Vivaldi, Beethoven and Bach.
I also have a lot of favourite directors, such as Chaplin, Tarkovsky, Bergman, Godard, Truffaut, Tarantino, Fellini, Kubrick, Lynch, and a lot of their movies, as well as other movies, not necessarily Hollywood ones. I really like watching the Oscar nominations and judging who deserves to win, but I'm never guessing it right, sadly. ;(
With books it's even more complicated: I really like German literature (Goethe, Schiller, Hesse, Th. Mann), also Russian literature (my favourite book would be "The Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov), Romanian literature, of course, some English and American authors, G. G. Marquez and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been teaching German for a few months - working with children and also with adults it's the best thing ever!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am willing to teach everything related to the languages I know, maybe also share my experiences in other countries or cities. In fact, I'm willing to talk about anything!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could share all my funny stories, jokes, cultural differences, all kinds of experiences and so on :D.
