Overview
About Me
Things have changed.... both our kids are at secondary school and I am a bit tied to home and the Peak District. Hopefully my time to travel and explore will come again! My son and I have recently been to Sweden which was great. There are plans for short trips. Anyway I am open to hosting more at the moment since it gives me the chance to meet diverse people - life in a village is lovely abd peaceful but diversity and adventure are sadly lacking...
to have my cake and eat it.... I have two children but I still want to travel and have surprises around every corner. Of course the kids provide surprises too :)
I also want to be a loving and supportive mum, and provide opportunities for my kids to have lots of fun and learn through home education.
ABOUT ME
I've got quite a twisted sense of humour; I'm open and friendly and interested in most things but in particular travel, nature, books and food. I'm frustrated by how little time there is and how much there is to do. We are living in the Peak District, just got our own house so will be able to host soon as well!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i've been couchsurfing in Istanbul twice, and twice in Morocco as a family. These experiences stand out as some of the best of my travels. Since having children, we have hosted some lovely travellers and it always enriches our lives ❤️
Interests
I don't have any regular 'hobbies' as such, but I have listed the things I would say I'm most interested in. I also love crafts and arts but I am RUBBISH at them so I really only do that stuff with my kids, who don't judge my lack of ability! I'm not one of those people who has a strong passion in one particular thing - I am up for most things but also a bit restless and get bored of doing one thing for a long time. I do however go to a regular singing group and book club. And am out walking/hanging out in wild places as much as possible.

Teach, Learn, Share
In 2009 I wrote
"I can stuff owls.
I'd like to learn how to stuff doves."
But now, 19 years later, I am less flippant about life and I would say I enjoy teaching and learning languages - english, spanish and french. I also like to share cooking, recipes and food ideas. I want and need to learn more about sustainable living. And anything arty. I also would like to share family life with other families or individuals; I am happy to spend time with other people's children and to give my kids the gift of getting to know people from other cultures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Walks, cooking, chatting, playing with their kids (if they have any), singing, language exchange.
