I'm Stefke, I am 25 years old and I live in a lovely house Waanrode, a district in the village Kortenaken, together with my fiance and our Vizsla dog (which happens to be the sweetest dog in the world, by far ;) ). Waanrode is a small, rural town which is located 30 km from the city Leuven and about 60 km from the capital of Belgium, Brussels.
In my free time, I am very engaged in the Belgian youth work scenery, of which I can explain you everything when you come and visit. I love taking walks and traveling (both inland and abroad). Another hobby of mine is taking care of our small petting zoo, since we have two kune kune pigs and two chickens. Finally, I love playing music (saxophone, clarinet and some guitar) when I have some spare time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After a nice experience with a hosting family in Denmark I would like to meet more locals during my trips abroad. Also, our house is big enough, so there's definitely room for some guests. This way we can also meet some new people in our own hometown.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band is Bon Iver, I love the movie Big Fish and the best books I've read are the ones of Griet Op de Beek, a Flemish author.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you almost everything about Belgian politics and about youth work in Belgium. My fiance is a historian, so he can show you around in every Belgian city and tell you something about it's history. We both like to take walks, so the walking trails in our neighbourhood have no secrets for us. And If you would like to learn about how to care for dogs, pigs and chicken, our house is your place to be. ;)
