About Me

I recently graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and moved to the Central West End in St. Louis, MO for medical residency (the training that comes after training). I'm still very new to the city, but I already love it! :D

I like to eat, drink beer, exercise, conversate, and sleep. My favorite things in life are learning something new (I've got fun facts for days), hanging out with other people, and making other peoples' lives better whenever possible. To all these ends, hosting couchsurfers is a great time. I was originally introduced to CSing by my roommate in medical school--His name is Shawn Kache (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/shawnkache). I figured I should give him a shout out, since he happens to be the best person ever.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, near Kalamazoo, MI. I lived on a small 80-acre farm. We grew grapes, asparagus, peaches, corn, and alfalfa. We also had some farm animals and the like. That being said, I'm definitely not your typical country boy. I prefer heavy metal to country music, I'm shamelessly liberal, my thought process is akin to schizophrenia, and I'm terrible at fishing. That being said, I learned a lot about life living off the land and have plenty of stories about being a country bumpkin. I've obviously left the boonies, and before I came to St. Louis, I lived in a couple smaller cities in MI. I molted into a philosphy and history fan in college, while chasing the dream of being a doctor. I've worked in a couple stem cell labs and science is my homie. I make new goals for every day and I hoard new ideas for the book I'm telling myself I'll write eventually. I've got a million stories to share and a billion more to make, but I'm doing my best to stay present and live one moment at a time.
