About Me

In 2013, after 6 years of studying, I decided life at home bored me and I took a break. I worked for half a year and in 2014, I finally managed to do something I was planning to do for quite a while but kept on procrastinating: travelling. I went on a working holiday for 8 months to New Zealand, after which I spent 2 months in holy Nepal and 1 month in crazy India. Taking the first step was the hardest one, and I needed a couple of weeks to get used to being 'out of my comfort zone', but I was amazed by how easy it is to get used to a life in which you don't have an actual home. No commitment, no ties, free to go wherever you want to go. I met more people while travelling in one month time than I did at home in one year time, I've been awestruck by the beautiful things our planet has to offer, I learned to appreciate the random acts of kindness of strangers who didn't expect anything in return, had a couple of intense culture shocks and, most of all, it made me a stronger person.

However, good things don't last forever (just like money), and I had to return home so I could finish my studies in law. I finished my studies in 2017 and started working as a lawyer since then, a job which consumes a lot of time and energy but which I am really passionate about. I love the variety of the job, the human interaction, the intellectual challenges, the intrests that are at stake and the fact that you can actually make a difference.

Because of my work responsibilities, I haven't had the opportunity to travel for a long time anymore. Although I love the job I'm doing now, I do miss travelling.

That's why I am on Couchsurfing: I realize I live in a beautiful city - Bruges - that many people from all over the world come to visit. That's why I'm offering myself as a free guide / host to tourists, travellers, foreign students etc. who wants to explore Bruges or nearby cities.

I live in an appartment close to the centre (25 min walk, 10 min by bus) in which there is place for you to stay. I'm mostly available in the weekends, but depending on how busy I am you might be able to stay during the week as well. Just send me a message and I'll try to answer you as quickly as possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a bungy jump and skydived. Made me feel like a badass back then, but thinking about it now: it's nothing compared to leaving everything behind for another life in a foreign country with nothing but a backpack on your shoulders.
