About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to relive my childhood and experience a pre-midlife crises simultaneously while managing to retain a semblance of sanity and collect nutty friends
ABOUT ME
Most likely you would get a whole range of responses... my oldest friends would probably tell you that I am slightly crazy (in a good way... not the scary kind)and that I can be stubborn and uptight at times.
They would be quick to remind you, though, that I am a kind, considerate and gentle person.
PHILOSOPHY
I love it when people keep it genuine and sincere.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am looking to explore exciting places, meet fabulous people, eat amazing food, participate in crazy adventures and grow old disgracefully.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never even heard of couch surfing until this past weekend where a friend invited me to a gathering.
I think it is fabulous!
Interests
I love reading... My favourite books are accidental "gelukkies" found in unlikely places that I have and will continue to read for the duration of my life...
I have tons of hobbies that I bounce between such as furniture restoration, beading, knitting, sculpting, painting and sewing.
I adore dancing, have since a "young-un" and like nothing better than going dancing with friends and meeting new people.
I find people fascinating and enjoy a good intellectual conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
BIG fan of horror (movies + books)
music changes often and is varied but there is a consistent thread of alternative rock that runs throughout
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am not a daredevil by nature, so there is nothing blindingly magnificent... My awestruck moments tend to be quiet and reflective.
One that sticks out is a trip on a cruise-ship with the sound of the waves and the gulls, combined with the sea spray and the scent of ocean. taking a huge lung-full of that and being buzzingly content.
another moment I remember fondly was a visit to a friend that lived and worked on Robben Island (The historic prison where our former president, Nelson Mandela, was imprisoned here in Cape Town).
I stayed for a week and, while my friend worked, I spent the days literally wandering from pillar to post on this little island.
Exploring all the old abandoned structures, swimming in the communal pool, taking leisurely strolls everywhere. going on the tour into the prison building and visiting Mr Mandela's old cell.
During my visits to the States, I inevitably followed this selfsame pattern of exploration, whereby I would become intimately acquainted with a town by living like a local.
- I have just this moment thought of an awesome moment: being in a racing car while it rode on its side (two wheels) in a doughnut.
the road literally less than a metre from my face!
that was exhilarating!
