About Me

October 2022
I am loving the PNW! I'm am going to a retreat on Mt Angel in Oregon at the end of this month. I'm planning on wintering in Salem or Portland. The farm work was a good rest from the road I'll be checking more into farm work!

August 2022
Currently I am backpacking/ hitch hiking my way from San Luis Obispo, California to Portland, Oregon. I've met some awesome people along the way and have had 3 really solid rides and 1 awesome stay (not on cs). My current goal is to reach Portland by August 16th to start work on a work exchange community farm.

I started my life of travel in 2019 mostly working on traditionally rigged ships all across the States. Sailing all five great lakes and both coasts! I have spent my last three Winters on contract in Delaware living and maintaining a wooden ship. My work has mostly been teaching educational programming aboard ship, hosting tourists on multi day cruises, maintaining wooden boats, and coordinating and teaching volunteers ship maintence. It has been a real adventure and has given me the opportunity to explore and travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This year I am really excited to be making a journey across the States picking up work along the way. I am looking for places to stay short term along the way and believe we are our best selves when learning about others.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read very challenging books. Most recently I have finished The Gulag Archipelago and Ordinary Men. Two very intense books exploring the horrors of the early 20th century. Last year I was on a big Steinbeck kick. While travelling I found a lot of Stephen King which I enjoyed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A vast knowledge of sea shanties and sailing vessels of the 17th to 19th centuries. Also a wide variety of sea stories of my own. Death defying, adventure inspiring, gross, and even mundane sailing stories. I enjoy preforming poety and comedy, I love telling a good story!
