About Me

I Currently live in McMinnville Oregon but also have a 44 foot sailboat called the Giggle Giggle in Astoria Oregon. Most weekends when the weather is decent I am out in Astoria working on the boa. My love and I are getting it ready for some open ocean traveling. We enjoy sharing our accommodations and dream with others thus all that are respectful and needing a good place to crash are welcome.

Goal: Wow, I realize I could put down all sorts of lofty goals, really I don't know what the future holds right now. I guess I have to two specific goals to reach that will then dictate future destinations; If all goes well I would love to work as a travel nurse, but I am aware that at times my will is subjugate to the dictate of fate....So long as I have good people in my life and the sails occasionally get filled with salty wind.....well, that is a good enough goal.

Oh yeah, the list of stuff I like to do. Ive surfed off and on for the last thirty years and aside from that I enjoy most all outdoor activities. Presently I consistently play ultimate, hike, backpack, put miles on my Felt and sail. I have in the past been an avid snowboarder, white water kayaker, rock climber an other er's.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the concept, I often meet people who are traveling and will invite them to my home for a meal, warm shower, a place to sleep and good company. I have traveled by, and lived out of, a backpack; in fact I may do that again someday, It was an liberating experience. Really couch surfing has helped to reconnect with an inner gratitude for what I have and the humility to share what little it is. It has helped to foster a growing faith in humanity and the goodness of most people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran the second drop on big brother little brother on the white salmon backwards and upside down. Not on purpose but it was pretty damn intense.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The boat is large for a boat but very small in contrast to a house, however, mi casa es su casa. We can accept people periodically to stay in the salon on the futon or up in the V-berth where there are two bunks and a bathroom (more like an old fashion water closet). We don't drink or smoke so if you are looking for a "party bud" We not that. I am generally in bed by ten and up with the sun. Shower in the morning is up at the port facilities with endless hot water. Of course coffee is the first thing in the am, then read in bed and then breakfast, easy living.
