About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To keep having new experiences.
To continue grow as a giving and kind person.
To never become complacent, too comfortable or take things for granted.
ABOUT ME
I am a very easy going and friendly guy who loves to travel the world and lose myself in new countries, cities and cultures.
**Tennis, Hiking, CrossFit, Weightlifting**'
I am a Social Worker, a challenging but very rewarding job and I get to meet some amazing people and hear some inspirational stories. It's also a great job to be able to travel the world with.
I have a passion for world travel but in the last few years Europe has captivated me.
In 2011, I visited England, Scotland and the Netherlands for a month. In 2012, I solo backpacked across Europe for four months. I mainly travelled through Croatia, Italy and Spain and this is when I started couch surfing. I got to meet some really cool local people who showed me around and it was such a great experience.
In 2013-2015, my family commitments, job and wedding took preference over travel. So instead of seeing the world, we brought the travellers to us! My wife and I hosted around sixteen different people during this time and have developed life long friendships and contacts in many countries!
In 2016, my wife Alice and I have took the plunge and quit our jobs and sold all our things in Australia. We travelled all throughout Eastern Europe - housesitting, staying in hostels and AirBnB's and couchsurfing/volunteering.
We had some amazing experiences like seeing Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia. Cat sitting in Turkey and then dogsitting in Spain!
After almost a year of travel, 2017 has brought us to England. I currently volunteer and do youth work in London and my wife and I housesit around the city full-time. It's tough as we can't always do the 'weekend trips' that we thought would be easy to do but we're saving for another few months of travelling!
Places I have to see before I go back to Australia:
More of ACTUAL England
Ireland
Iceland
Latvia
Denmark
Sweden
Norway
[if you have read this far and wish to couchsurf with me: please in your request introduce yourself and tell me one good thing about the city or town you are from or a fond memory of your hometown! This way I know who is reading my profile and keen to exchange an experience and not just a free bed!]

Music, Movies, and Books
MOVIES
Some days I'll prefer a comedy or action movie, something simple, other days I love complicated thrillers and movies that make you think!
Stepbrothers. The Other Guys.
Donnie Darko. Kill Bill. The Life of David Gale.
MUSIC
I enjoy all types of music. I know EVERYONE says that but honestly I do. I grew up mostly listening Punk Rock or Pop/Rock bands, but my music taste is really varied. I grew up learning classical and jazz piano which I enjoy and will even listen to Heavy Metal some days!
The Strokes. Paramore. New Found Glory. Thrice. DMAs. Asgeir. MSMR. GATTACA OST. Final Fantasy Soundtracks (Nobuo Uematsu).
BOOKS
I need to read more. I needed to read more and throw away that phone that controls our lives so much! I enjoy a mix of fantasy fiction and young adult fiction.
The Wheel of Time series. Game of Thrones. Candy. The Slap. Barracuda. The Kite Runner.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess travelling solo for me is an amazing experience, the people I have met and things I have had the opportunity to do. I was questioned a lot in 2012 when I decided to up and leave for three months with my girlfriend behind but it was something that I had to do. We both went our separate ways, me to Europe and her to America and its brought us closer together and reignited our passion for meeting new people and travelling to new places. Now we are married and doing it together!
Switzerland: Jungraujoch (Highest peak in Europe).
Amsterdam: Celebrating Queens Day with the Dutch!
Italy: Hiking the beautiful Cinque Terre coastline.
Spain: Everything Spain had to offer: Barcelona nightclubs, Flamenco in Granada, La Tomatina in Valencia and Tapas in Madrid, Drinking in Seville, Pinxtos in San Sebastian.
Sarajevo, Bosnia: My favourite place of all time!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some aspects and elements of Music and Music Theory. Also how to get into housesitting?
I really really want more Spanish/South American Couchsurfers to stay with me in the future so I can learn more Spanish. I know most of the time you all come here and want to practice English. But the best time I ever has was in Southern Spain and no one spoke English. That really forced me to learn!
