Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel as much as I can and see everything the world has to offer!
ABOUT ME
I spend time traveling the world on my summer breaks and I live on a little isolated island (Unalaska/Dutch Harbor) during the school year teaching middle school students. While I have the time, I believe in living my life to the fullest and have a love for learning new things, whether it be a new language (currently I'm successful at learning pieces of many languages), a new way of thinking, a new type of food, and especially new viewpoints and appreciation for the lives of people all over!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in living life to the fullest and that can only be accomplished through experience of culture and the people within.
"It is better to have loved, than to have never loved at all."
I believe that everyone is responsible for themselves and should take responsibility for their actions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've only been able to stay at two places. I hope more experiences will come!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had two great experiences.
Interests
I love to cook, fish, hunt, travel, reading, go swimming, play volleyball, softball, and hockey. I would love to learn German but my recent travels have caused me to start learning Spanish and Italian.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was a member of the US Coast Guard Academy, I used to work for the US Forest Service, I spent a couple weeks in Costa Rica, and am currently seeing all the wonders of Western Europe. I spent 3 weeks on a NOAA research ship in the middle of the Bering Sea conducting pollock surveys.
Teach, Learn, Share
I grew up on a cattle ranch in the middle of rural Eastern Oregon. I spent 3 years teaching in Dutch Harbor, Alaska and now I live in Italy. I love to bake and often find myself making home-style country desserts. I am a teacher at heart which means I love to show people about my side of the world and most importantly, to learn from others.
