About Me

ABOUT ME

Over half a century old, but I sure don't feel it (except some mornings) I shoot video for a living but used to work with lasers. I'm a ski instructor and host a documentary filmmakers discussion group. With my daughter, I run a group called Seattle Minute Movies. Every month we pick a one word theme and ask people to make a short film inspired by that word. see: minutemovies.com I'm starting a clothing line in collaboration various artists. I love to travel with friends, family or alone, and always welcome a new experience.
Married and my kids are all grown up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I'm new to couchsurfing.org, but not new to sleeping in unusual places. I'm familiar with sleeping on a couch, in a car, a camper, a park, on a mountain, at the beach, 5 star hotels, crowded hostels, camp grounds, side of the road, on a plane, on a train, in a boat etc.

Interests

Travel, interesting people, new experiences. Photography, and videography Skiing backpacking and bicycling. I want to get back into the ocean to surf and sail, someday scuba. Fine art, fine wine and fine food. Horseshoes or a good game of spades. Good conversation. Music, dancing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in the Smith Tower when the Kingdome was demolished. The entire building was engulfed in dust as people on the street fled. I've seen a bunch of other stuff too, but that just popped into my head.
Other stuff like riding a freight train from Navojoa to Mazatlan, or making a Whirling Dervish film in Gorome Turkey, or riding 18 foot waves at the Wedge in Balboa beach, or operating a high energy linear accelerator / free electron laser, or building an adobe art studio with an iconic artist in New Mexico. So many things, and probably the most amazing was witnessing the birth of my first daughter.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, France, Greece, Mexico, Nepal, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, Turkey
