Traveling in a pathless path
ABOUT ME
After two years into my grad school, I realized I was living a life that wasn't mine. I left a prospect of professional career for a life of uncertainty on the road. I sold and gave away most of my possession. During my reach, I volunteered to rebuild New Orleans after Katrina. went camping and hiking in the national parks, backpacking in Mexico and sleeping on the beaches in my tent, thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, and traveled around the world. A decade has gone by since I got my veterinarian degree. I don't have anything to show for my accomplishment like my classmates. But I've seen a lot of the world, met all kind of people and learned a lot about life, More importantly, I've grown.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS has been my community. It helps me to learn about the world and about humanity. It puts me in contact with the world. More importantly, it provides me supports for my quest because I found my community spiritual seekers. One host read me a passage from the diamond sutra and gave me 'Dharmapada'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went hiking with friends and was separated from them. I didn't make it back to the parking lot before dark, and had to spend the night alone in the desert. I stayed awake all night on a big rock waiting for the sun to come up. The rock was cold, and I couldn´t sleep even sitting down. I had to get up often to move around to keep myself warm. I tried to make fire with a stick and a piece of log. It did not work. As soon as darkness disappeared, I found my way to the parking lot. I encountered a group of rangers. I asked them if I was on the trail to the parking lot. They said "Yes". Then they asked me "Are you Wynn?". My friends had contacted the rangers to search for me.
Since that experience I always pay attention to the position of the sun when I go into wilderness. I looked up on the youtube how to make fire by rubbing a stick. It is not easy. I always carry a lighter with me even on this journey.
