We are accountants by profession, but anything but accountants by nature. If you think we are one of those quiet, suit-wearing, number-crunching people, you are in for a surprise! We are talkative, inquisitive, fun-loving people who love to meet new people. We live with our parents (which is why we can't afford to host any people!) in Chennai, India.

Travel is one of the things that we feel really enriches our soul and was one of the principal things which brought us together in the first place. We are trying to take baby steps in fulfilling our ambition of ensuring that we travel as much as we can and meet as many people as we can. We are friendly, fun-loving people who try to avoid hotels whenever we travel. We feel that each and every place has something unique to offer in terms of the culture and the local flavour and we love experiencing that - as a local!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because we want to feel at home in the places that we intend to stay. Couchsurfing is personal. We get to meet lovely people, interact with them, and share our experiences. For us, travel is half about the places and half about the people. We thoroughly enjoy conversations with people from different walks of life. We avoid hotels whenever we travel and prefer to stay at homes.

Currently, we live with our parents which means we do not have the privilege of being able to host people. We will be moving to our own house in the near future and we hope to start hosting guests and get to know more about how our city and country feels from a tourist point of view! Our culture is built around "Athithi Devo Bhava" - "Guest is equivalent to God" and we're no exceptions!

Interests

First off, both of us love talking to people. Travelling and meeting new people while experiencing their culture is something that defines our thirst for travel. We have our specific interests - I love football (CHELSEA!!!) while she has her TV series (FRIENDS, How I met your mother, Big Bang Theory, 2.5 men, Modern Family, The Office - to name a few). She loves food, I'm ok as long as I have enough to live on. Both of us genuinely love science, especially physics and its application in everyday life. We thoroughly enjoy history and Egypt is our dream destination! Probably stems from the fact that we come from a country which is very rich in history and culture! We love adrenaline rushes and we're crazy enough to do things which most people around us scoff at! Oh, and we absolutely love Harry Potter.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love all kinds of music. Our favourites would include Pink Floyd, Queen, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Eyed Peas, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Linkin Park, Eminem, Adele, and Sia,

We're avid readers of fiction! We're potterheads; we worship the genius that is J K Rowling!
We also enjoy reading Jeffrey Archer, Sidney Sheldon, Dan Brown, P.G. Wodehouse, Agatha Christie, Michael Crichton and John Grisham.

When it comes to movies, we devour anything and everything. We're bad critics though; we end up liking almost every movie that we watch! Some of our favourites include - Nolan movies especially the Batman trilogy, Jim Carrey movies especially Ace Ventura and Bruce Almighty, Fight Club, Argo, Oceans trilogy, Shutter Island, Avengers, Adam Sandler movies, 2 Fast 2 Furious (before they started making some 79 movies in the series), The Wolf of Wall Street, Catch Me If You Can, animation movies especially Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Ice Age series, Megamind, Despicable Me (though Despicable Me 1 and Megamind are literally the same story but we love them nevertheless), INSIDE OUT!!!!!!!!! (Can I just add how amazing that movie was?!), Eurotrip, Captain Philips, RocknRolla, and 300. This is hardly an exhaustive list because of how much we love watching movies.

We also enjoy watching movies and listening to music in our local language (Tamil) and if we start making that list, Couchsurfing might start charging us for the excessive usage of words!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing we've done together - we quit our jobs in 2017 and backpacked across Central and Western Europe for ~3 months. It was a magical trip for us and while we came back broke and jobless, we were left with memories and stories that will last a lifetime!

We also tandem bungee-d in New Zealand! NZ was the first step in our quest to travel around the world and it was an adventure-filled trip for us and bungee was the pinnacle of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

We both believe that you learn till you die. We love anything, ANYTHING, that you can teach us. A day spent without learning is a day wasted.

We're not sure if we are good enough to be teachers, but what we can share is about a culture-filled country which has no boundaries. Nothing can prepare you for the jolt that this magical land will give you. We're nowhere close to claiming that we've covered a significant part of it even. But to us, the world is one single place. We keep exploring, we keep learning, we keep experiencing...

Well, friendly, helpful, joyous company is what comes to our head first! We love talking, so you can count us to entertain you during your evenings!
