About Me

My current hats are Photographer and Camera Operator, 2nd AC, production staff. I grew up in Oceanside, CA and went to university in San Francisco, after that I returned to Oside to live by the beach, work as a bartender and travel around the world. I've backpacked through southern europe, lived in Barcelona, gotten lost in Mexico and performed in Canada. (Honestly none of this is as cool as it sounds) I love documentary style photography, music from around the world and am trying to make a living with my camera and latent knowledge. I am friendly, helpful and try my best to be kind and respectful to everyone I meet.

I also have a doberman-husky mix named Rocky who is the joy of my joys, a spicy little tortoise-hair Fernet and a goldfish Daisy-- my husband Nathan takes care of the herd while I am away.

I currently am trying to get work in LA and it's a struggle to find a place to crash, trying not to spending too much money while I am working unpaid gigs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Kinda really obessed with sergio leone and clint eastwood, but I love westerns in general. I also am a sucker for cerebral movies, quirky indie comedies, nature movies, documentaries, and anything with a good story and great cinematography.

Music: pyschedelic rock, blues, classic blues rock, indie rock, jazz, gyspy jazz, bluegrass, old country, soul, r&b, underground hip hop, oldies, world music. I love music except I can't really stand pop country, emo or screamo.

Books: Satires like Catch22, David Sedaris' work, Russian Literature like Tolstoy, contemporary fiction like Cormac McCarthy's the Road and "The Unbearable Lightness of Being",100 years of solitude.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in San Francisco for two years and rode my bike everyday of that--completely car free for 8 years.

I also have worked with VH1 and a very high profile country music group (Sugarland) and their stylist.

In Mexico I helped a biologist save endangered sea turtle eggs in the middle of a thunderstorm, in pitch black night.

My photographs have been published in the LA times, San Francisco chronicle, UT San Diego.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can paint, take great photos, especially candids of those around me.

I've worked on cars occasionally, and I am pretty handy around a house. (Read: I can change oil, brakes, replace various electrical, I know how to swing a hammer)

I know how to drive stick-shift and am really good at teaching it.

I know how to garden and grow organic veggies.

I've trained dogs and horses, and I've ranch sat for 3 weeks, as well as raised a market lamb. I've worked with full grown Arabian stallions and herds of horses.

I'm also really good at bargain shopping, decent with a needle and thread, and I know how to cook decent food.

I am fairly knowledgeable in the nitty gritty of photography--film, wet darkroom techniques, printing digital prints, and I have formidable photoshop skills. I love to show people my little tricks that I have developed over the years.

I have graduated with a degree in Photography. So, pretty much many questions I can answer with photography.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Photography tips, minor computer help, gardening knowledge, fun conversations about permaculture, earth-ships and mushrooms.
