ABOUT ME

A bit about me:
I graduated from UW, two years ago, with a degree in Political Economy, something I have not quite found a use for career wise. I am presently working in Southlake Union as an Admin for a construction company and despite it not associating with my degree; they take good care of me.
I was born and raised in Central Washington, near Leavenworth and I have been living in Seattle for the last three years, but before that I moved around a bit. I graduated early in WA and then finished my interim high school education in a small town in southeastern Spain. I returned to go to UW and after my freshman year at UW I lived in Washington DC trying to help a friend who was in a tough place. Then back to UW for two school years then I moved to South Beach Florida for a year. And then back to UW to finish my BA.
I could be called a collector of hobbies, having tried about a dozen sports, several different dances, and my odd craft crazes (sewing was the most recent), my present hobby of choice is fencing which I love but do not get to spend as much time practicing as I would wish. I am always up to learning something new. My truest passions in life are my books and will occasionally curl up with a good novel and a better bottle of wine and stay pretty much there until both are finished. Recently I discovered books on tape which combine my love for stories and the ability to listen to them while I clean house and do laundry (don’t worry, I’m a headphones kind of girl). I’m clean, honest, and can enjoy a fun party as much as quite night in with movies/books.

I do have a somewhat small hot water tank, but as long as you wait 15 minutes between showers it doesn't seem to be too bad. I also have a cat, he is ball-less, and claw-less, and loves people. His name is monster and he is a short-haired half flame point half Siamese cat with blue eyes and white with peach splotched fur. Monster is bathed regularly but those with extreme allergies may not want to consider here. My ex was sensitive but did not seem bothered by Monster.

New to the community.

But both of my younger sisters traveled around Europe using almost exclusively this community and had wonderful experiences. And as I just recently got my own one bedroom apartment with lots of extra space I was thinking it would be fun way to meet people excited about a new city and have the chance to look at my city through their eyes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No formal experience, but in the minor leagues, bumming space on people's floors/couches, I have been given opportunities to see amazing events and had my butt saved when things didn't work out with ex's or ex-roomies. I have also had my butt saved, by being given a space to sleep, back in the days of university when there wasn't a dime to spare and would like to karmatically repay those kindnesses.

Fencing, reading, SCUBA diving (warm water only!), boxing, baseball, swimming, baking, sun bathing (not too much here), art museums, history museums, watching roller derby, happy hours, cafe, tea, fine wines, movies (happy ones), musicals, the ballet, country swing dance, west coast swing dance, flamenco, belly-dancing, actually all dance, sewing, craft projects, interior design, antique costume jewelry, sailing (quite good in Seattle, I go out regularly), if it is something new, I want to try it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a good two-step and country swing dance, good enough to teach, and a sensitive follow when dancing other steps. I would love to learn more of the partner dances and to perfect them eventually.
