About Me

"The Linguist across the seas and the oceans
A permanent Itinerant is what I've chosen
I find myself in Big City prison
Arisen from the vision of man kind
Designed, to keep me discreetly neatly in the corner
You'll find me with the flora and the fauna and the hardship
Back a yard is where my heart is... " (Mattafix - Big city life)

Hi beautiful souls, i am Susanne, a 28 year old human being from The Netherlands. Preferably call me Suus (unless you need some philosophical advise). I am a curious and open. And i see my life as one big journey, in where we have positive experiences and experiences that allow us to learn. Which i absolutely love. Teach me anything. There is so much knowledge in this world, so much knowledge within humans, so much yet to learn, to experience. It makes life exciting. I meditate and i just opened the door to spirituality. Meaning for me: the consciousness of my own body, soul and energy. Last year i finished my bachelor in Psychology and before that i got my bachelor in Communications. Before going into my masters, i figured i was really done with the school 'grading' system. So i worked for a year, as administrative employee, project employee and as supply planner. Saved up and I am now ready to spread my wings and fly.

I fully recharge in nature, forests, green. Adore watching the sun shining through the trees. I'll wander off. Enter new trails. Discover new places. Listen to the birds. The wind. Lose track of time and reality. I like fitness, crossfit, hiking, swimming, cycling. And I'm always in for things that'll give ma an adrenaline rush! I love humans, and their behavior. Their resemblances, their uniqueness. The culture they live in, the traditions they hold up, the music they sing and dance to. The food they cook. The language they speak. I am ready to fully immerse in whatever culture i get to meet. No, not just ready, bloody excited!!

Friends would tell you how i always see the good in people, how I am a sensitive soul and how I feel deeply. Also that i can be (too) analytic and theoretical ("Suus, you think too much" I hear quite often). So you can imagine, these traits together can cause quite some chaos in my mind. I'd like to see it as 'my beautiful chaos'. Also one of the reasons why I meditate. Anyhow, my good traits are also my bad traits. They go hand in hand. Yin & yang.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because i think its an awesome way to get to know different people from different countries. Ill definitely host souls once i got my own place but for now im traveling the world and hope i can crash on some couches! I do not snore. I might have a philosophical debate out loud while dreaming.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pink and Eminem are my childhood heroes. For the rest it depends on my emotional /mental state: Einaudi, Linkin Park, Walking on Cars (whoooo?? :D love them), Jessie J, 90's R&B, Hardstyle, Trapnation, Etherwood and Shlomo (favourite stoners music), Xavier Rudd, Enigma, Enya, Celtic music, Skunk Anansie, Disturbed, no honestly any kind of music could touch my soul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungeejumping of the bluekrans bridge in South Africa, walking the original inca trail in Peru and climbing the acatenango vulcano in Guatemala. Can't decide. It's an issue. Me and chosing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My philosophical thoughts, curiosity, continuous smile and love for humans, animals and nature. Hopefully one day my couch and hometown Enschede, which is at the border with Germany so we could do 2 flies in 1 clap (which im pretty sure is not an english proverb but it is now)
