My husband and I live in a rural part of Iowa. Together with his parents we own a meat processing company. I am a social worker, but have now moved into part time stay at home mom and part time helping Chris with the locker. We have two boys, ages 17 and 6. We are an active family who are very close. We also have a 23 year old daughter who couch surfs and we think it's an amazing thing! We really want to be hosts!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seeing the experiences my daughter has had through Couchsurfing, we also want to participate. Hosting will be our way of giving back while also learning about other cultures and ways of living.

Interests

We are a HUGE sports family. We love football, Ice Hockey, and Baseball mostly.

Our 17 year old is on the High School football team, wrestling team, and track. He's a pretty mellow, cool kid. He enjoys being home and also likes hanging out with his friends! He's a lot of fun to be around.

Our 6 year old has a ton of energy, but is well behaved! He has his "imagination toys" that he loves to play with. He likes to play sports as well and is being introduced to all types. Playing outside in our yard is one of his favorite things to do.

We also have GUIDO! He is our large and lovable St Bernard. And we can describe him best as a 150# lap dog. He has fluff and drool. But listens really well and is pretty trained. Our house doesn't smell like dog!

We like everything pretty much, as long as it's good!

We watch a lot of crime shows and reality TV. But usually we have some kind of game on our TV.

We would love to introduce rural Northwest Iowa to couchsurfers! We would love for our sons to meet people from all parts of the U.S. and the World.

I can cook!! And if wanted, I can teach my couchsurfers how to make Italian food amongst good old American food!

Since the family owns a Meat Processing plant, we would happy to show our couchsurfers around that industry. It's pretty interesting. Especially for meat lovers!

Our town is very small, but lots of outdoorsy things to do!! All kinds of boating and water sports are close by. There's trail hiking and hunting as well!

We are about a three hour drive south from Minneapolos Mn. and about 90 mins east of Sioux Falls.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We aren't planning on staying anywhere right now... But when we do, we can share how we live as a fun sporting family. Blended in every way!
