One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the middle of nowhere in Queensland, Australia, me and a guy I was doing a roadtrip with for a couple of weeks went to Wallaman Falls. It is the highest single drop waterfall in Australia, measuring 268 metres for the main drop.
After hiking down to the pool, we decided to go for a swim in it. What looked like a puddle from the top looked like a full grown, pitch black lake when we were standing at its bank. It took a while to get into the freezing cold water (apparently about 20 metres deep) and it was really a struggle to get to the actual water dropping down. It was a lot further than expected, the current pushed you away constantly and I started hyperventilating because of the freezing water half way. Eventually we made it close, but the mist made it really hard to breath.
We did not stay long but at least we got there. It was probably stupid, but definitely worth it!
