About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently I am setting up an English School in my home in Tobetsu near Sapporo. After 32 years in the automotive industry I was like so many others bought out, forced to retire. But in my past life I really enjoyed training and inspiring people.

ABOUT ME

I have been dreaming about living in Japan for many years. Now I am trying to make it happen. My first encounter with Japan was in the 80's. While stationed in Tokyo working for an American automotive company I had a chance to experience and learn about the automotive industry here in Asia.

Most of the industry here is on the main Japanese island, Honshu. I am getting set up on an island further north. In Hokkaido the climate is more like Canada.

Tobetsu is known for a development called Sweden Hills. For over 30 years Swedish homes have been constructed on hills above Tobetsu.

It is part of an effort to create balanced life style communities. What a contrast from industrial towns like Toyota City.

From Sweden Hills you can see Sapporo a city built up in the 1800's inspired by American city planners.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay positive, link up with energetic empowering people like Tony Robbins, author of Unlimited Power.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to have you visit and enjoy Hokkaido. Japan can be an expensive place to visit if you plan to stay in the biggest cities like Tokyo or Osaka. Sapporo and surrounding communities offer lower cost accomodations and food. Ando Business Hotel 4,500 yen http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~hotelando/kannai.html

Come and experience rural Japan near a major city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
