About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do good and be good

ABOUT ME

I think I am funny...

The world is a small place, we only have the one, and I believe in a strong sense of community - So I support Globalization of Community ;)

I grew up in a very very small town in northern Minnesota in USA, with 860 people living there - and I even lived 8 kilometers outside of the town! Growing up with many older role models around - where people just pitched in and helped - for instance, if someone needed a new roof on their house it was usually the neighbors who worked together and fixed it.

I learned first hand that anyone can do anything, and I carry that with me - looking for possibilities in everything. (Though I can be pessimistic at times too of course..)

I have a lot of energy. A connoisseur of life, been called a "life enjoyer" - and I love it! I play hard - riding mountainbike, even racing cross country sometimes :) Need to work and improve my relaxation techniques though.. But I can chill too :) and I do have a hammock on my balcony, that I try to use too.

Most say it´s fun to know me and that I´m very interesting.

I would say I´m not average. If your not allergic to cats you probably will have a good, but hopefully even GREAT time surfing my pad.

PHILOSOPHY

Do good. Be Good. If you can make it a litte better than you should.

Ask yourself if what your doing is a part of the problem or a part of the solution.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The world is a small place, we only have the one, and I believe in a strong sense of community - So I support Globalization of Community ;)

Couch surfing is great! I have been meeting some cool
people and have also of course had some oddballs contact me... - I think Couch surfing is a great project and I have been doing this kind of thing for many years and I will continue to be active here as long as the CS spirit stays true..

It is also up to us to make and keep CS as a real community.

And regarding negative experiences, which are bound to happen: I advise people to let others know what they think is appropriate behavior and what is not. Don't either be afraid to ask someone to leave if you are hosting them and you feel uncomfortable. I had a guest once (3 nights) that only wanted a hotel space basically - no real social interaction, and I wish I would have asked him to leave because I don't think it was proper behavior on his part.

My participation is both traveling, hosting, and trying to be active and meet the local groups too. I have been doing this kind of thing for over 10 years - bouncing from friends of friends of friends, to places by places by places ever since I moved to Sweden / Europe.

I had a great time in December 2010 when I was lucky enough to surf with 3 different hosts in Costa Rica! We partied together, did fun things and now I have 3 more real friends after that trip. I think that's how it should be, one should spend time with their hosts and guests - because this is how you build community and keep CouchSurfing strong and healthy!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Good

Interests

Mountainbiking. Boarding, including mountainboarding, though I need to practice that one more.. Have a longboard. Like to be outside and do things. Go to spinning class regularly to keep in shape for mountainbiking, and to work off the stress.

I´m interested intellectually in making a contribution to society - As an educated sustainable developer (www.lumes.lu.se) I´m supposed to change the world right ;)
So, I´m trying to start a foundation for establishing renwable energy in developing countries and bulding human capacity at the same time. Also have some other grand ideas for GREEN business including consumption, tourism and inventions even :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Amelie is great. LOTR of course! Big Lebowski is classic. Forest Gump. Old School is some funny shit too:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have actually been paid, as a part of my job, to stand on the rooftop of a modern wind turbine, at about +80 meters over the ground / water (botyh!)! - so you can imagine what kinds of things I get up to in my free time... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

open, kind, intellectual, cheerful, really all people, so long as they want to interact. Everyone is Beautiful.
