About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live a little!! Have fun, meet new people, enjoy life!

ABOUT ME

Never know what to write on these things! Umm... I'm 40 and live in the countryside outside Bristol with my 2 dogs. I love exercising, I compete in strongwoman (yes, I can lift you, no, I won't lift you lol)
I work as a mental health worker for the NHS.
Personality wise, I'm pretty easy going and laid back, my only real no-nos are rude, narrow minded people. I like to make people laugh, and to laugh. I'm quite shy at first when meeting new people, and I'm not someone who dominates the conversation. I tend to be quite thoughtful and let others speak more!

PHILOSOPHY

I've not had the easiest life, but I feel things are finally changing for me. I'm learning to love living alone and finding out more about life and the universe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I preach about how awesome CS is to anyone who listens!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed two couches (well one bed and one couch) in the USA - one was a return host in Seattle which was amazing and one was in Oregon which was also v.cool.

I've hosted a fair few people now, with no bad experiences at all, everyone's been absolutely lovely! People have cooked for us, brought us beer, even given us an impromptu concert in our living room, awesome all round!

Interests

I love having people over for dinner, I love cooking and baking.
Love playing softball, it's a great way to get rid of any stress and it's something I'm fairly good at...

I have a huge music obsession, I love discovering new bands, and spend a lot of time going to gigs and surfing the net listening to new stuff!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Virgin Suicides, Amelie, also cheesy stuff like Grease 1 & 2, Dirty Dancing etc.
Music - Regina Spektor, M. Ward, Martha Wainwright, Aimee Mann, Jenny Lewis and Alela Diane.
Books - Huge fan of Jasper Fforde and Malcolm Pryce. Also love Margaret Atwood and Donna Tartt. I love reading, so always have at least 2 books on the go, usually something by Kathy Reichs or Patricia Cornwell (older stuff only!) as often too tired to read heavy stuff!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've seen is Yosemite National Park. I can't remember my breath being taken away before, but the views there were so awe inspiring, it did actually do it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I may not have been to many places, or seen many things, but I do have valuable life experience - I have been through a lot in life, and am a great listener and problem-solver. I can share my cookery skills, and home improvement skills, and generally just be a great hostess/couch surfer!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to make cupcakes, either paleo or full on comfort food ones.
I would gladly impart my knowledge of the local area. I have a car so am happy to take people to local places.
Also happy to share my little 3 legged wonder dog and cheeky rescue terrier, they're awesome company 😀

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United States
