Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I fell in love with Italy in 2011 when I visited Venice before taking a Greek Isles cruise. I had only cared about going to Greece when we booked the trip, but it was Italy that charmed me. I returned as a solo traveler in December 2014; staying in Zagarolo just outside of Rome for two weeks before traveling on through Italy and Europe. I totally fell in love with Italy and stayed for almost 4 years. Now, I’m traveling the world!

I have done a decent amount of traveling in my life and the most enjoyable times have been when I have had the opportunity to meet the local people. To hear their stories, see their homes, and share a meal together. I have not had many CS experiences, yet but I have stayed in many Airbnb's with positive reviews. No more sterile hotels for me, if I can help it!

I'm not able to offer a couch to other CS because I’m currently just drifting and don't have a dwelling of my own anymore!

Interessen

Local favorites (I really dislike chain restaurants) nature, food (cooking,baking, eating!), urban art, meeting new people, having new experiences, learning about another culture, bicycling leisurely through bike friendly cities, traveling with a friend (sometimes), photographing childbirth and pretty much anything that catches my fancy.

When I left Rome in 2019 after living there almost 4 years I decided to travel!!! I was only going to do it for a year before returning to the U.S. Well, my wanderlust is alive and well. I can't give it up yet. So, when I stay a place for longer than 2 weeks, I call it "living there." My definition- may not be everyone's. :)

I had two Brussels Griffons who traveled from the US with me and all over Europe. Brandy passed away at almost 13 in May 2019 and Itsy passed away at almost 12 in November 2019. I've had a lot of heartache and continue to grieve. If you have animals, they're welcome to sleep with me! :) I miss my girls every day.

If you love the blues you MUST listen to Tab Bennoit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdFehB-IgoA and if you like roots, folk, and raggae you've gotta give Trevor Hall a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny0TSwjvrAg I still haven't seen the last Hunger Games and I don't know why. I'm a wanna be book reader. It's a romantic idea to curl up on the couch and become swept away in another world. However, I always end up sitting in an uncomfortable chair for hours behind this glaring screen. Instead, I'll ignore the discomfort of public transportation listening to audiobooks. I love Stephen King. I enjoy reading stories on how someone fell in love with Italy. As much as I like movies and listening to books, they are in and out of my mind in an instant. I recently watched "Peanut Butter Falcon" on the flight from Croatia to Bangkok and absolutely loved it. Check it out because if you ask me later I'll only remember the very basics of the story about a guy with Down Syndrome who loves wrestling and his adventure. I wish I were more like my sister, she can pull movie quotes out of so many life experiences.

Just one? The one most people are amazed by is that I booked the flight on a whim to start this journey back in December 2014.

I'm a rule follower, but I can't resist saying more than one amazing thing: sailing the Galapagos Islands with 2 whale sharks swimming alongside of us!
