ABOUT ME

As of May, 2024 I'm living in Union City, NJ (10 minutes to NYC by bus) and attending graduate school.

I'm an easy going person. Some of the things I enjoy most are music, good food, lively conversation, and the outdoors. I try to lead a peaceful life and to appreciate both the extraordinary and commonplace parts of it. I want to see as much of the world as I can and to experience it with kind and honest people.

When I travel, I try my best to fit in wherever I go (even though I still usually end up sticking out). I like to try to eat, drink, live, and think like a local. Doing that is infinitely more rewarding to me than simply being somewhere and seeing something.

Compared to most Americans I think it's safe to say I'm slightly introverted, but as I've traveled I've found I'm considered less so in other cultures!

I first created my Couchsurfing profile before going abroad to Japan after college. I've now met a bunch of wonderful people from around the world as hosts, surfers, and friends.

Carrying mikoshi and drinking far too much sake out of a giant bottle in a local festival in Onuma, Hokkaido, Japan
