CURRENT MISSION
Welcome the stranger!
ABOUT ME
I live at Burdock House, an intentional community in Anderson Indiana with my partner Josh, baby Corina and two awesome housemates Tyson & Salem.
Right now we are remodeling a 3000 square foot commercial building. We are almost finished with the construction. We have nearly an acre of land a portion of which we garden, we use our house to host all ages concerts and other community/cultural events and gatherings.
In high school I was into punk rock and I organized concerts, published a fanzine and ran a food not bombs chapter. When I got out of high school I hoboed around the states visiting Catholic Worker http://catholicworker.org/ communities and other anarchist and/or Christian communities for about three years. During that time I learned a whole lot about communal living, service work, anarchism and I also had the great privilege of visiting and intimately experiencing some of the most amazing places and plant/animal communities in this country.
After all that traveling I wanted to come back to my hometown to live in a place where i have deep roots and bring a bit of all the beauty and wonder I witnessed all around the country to the town that I love.
We are looking for people to join our community for longer than just a visit. If Burdock House sounds interesting to you, come and visit us and see what you think.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We bought our building with the intention of sharing it and this is another way to do so!

I like simple music. Acoustic punk rock, garage, bike punk, folk!, indie rock.
As for books recently i exclusively and thirstily read utopia/dystopia type science fiction and dark novels. I like Kurt vonnegut, ursula k le guinn, neil gaiman, chuck palahniuk to name a few authors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen four babies come into this world in my parent's kitchen. Everyone should see it at least once.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH:
I know a lot about homeschooling, zine making, dumpster diving, I make fermented foods (sourdough, wine, beer, sauerkraut, pickles), DIY homemaking, low budget travel, catholic workers, communal living...
LEARN:
I'm interested in learning just about any skill that you would be willing to teach really. Anything that will help me become more independent of the capitalist system. I want to be able to create my own living just like other animals do on this earth. I've got a long way to go and I can't do it alone. Also I really love any type of art and craft making!
SHARE: I love to share food and cook for people. Do not come to my house full! I can share my living space with you if you'd like or just my time if you want to talk or go for a bike ride or get a coffee sometime.
