Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few bike tourists, and I've hosted lots of friends of friends not through cs. I'm currently on a bike tour and have stayed with several wonderful cs hosts so far!
Interests
I recently found that I thrive as a traveller - bike touring especially. I loved seeing the country at that pace, demanding so much from my body every day, and having so many chances to meet so many people.
I'm an aspiring farmer, which is currently leading me to feel torn between the settling life and the traveling life.
I love to learn how to make things. I'm a hobby collector. One day I guess I'll pick a couple to focus on. Right now I'm mostly into pottery, but I also spin wool, knit, and make fermented foods.
I like to meet people and hear their stories. I love stories in general. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks - This American Life, The Moth, How Stuff Works.

Music, Movies, and Books
Right now I'm reading 2666 by Roberto Bolano. Author authors I've enjoyed lately are Haruki Murakami, John Steinbeck, Frank Herbet, and Zadie Smith.
Music: Angel Olsen, Karen Dalton, Thee Oh Sees, Bill Callahan, Mount Eerie, Grass Widow, Ty Segall
Movies: I haven't been watching movies enough lately, but I tend to like the criterion collection, Michel Gondry, Cohen Brothers, Wes Anderson, Alfonso Cuarón, Jean-Pierre Jeunet
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Arriving in New Orleans, our final destination on the last day of a 2,600 mile bike tour.
Looking down into a canyon on the first day of a backpacking trip in the Barrancas del Cobre in Mexico.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've taught bunches of people to knit.
I want to farm, which means I need to learn how to grow things, carpentry, animal husbandry, mechanics, how to run a business, and so on.
Countries I’ve Visited
