ABOUT ME

I'm a bit on an iconoclast. I ride a bicycle and don't own an automobile car. I'm proud to be American, but I'm ashamed of what is being done in my country's name. I like meeting people from different places and learning about new perspectives and ways of living life. I try to be open-minded but know that as I get older habits become harder to break. I'll write more later... oh yeah, sometimes I procrastinate.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Conversation with people from other cultures is truly an enlightening and uplifting activity. I like to be enriched by as many points of view as possible and to converse with people whose experiences in life are entirely different from my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-surfed in Amsterdam and met wonderful people and really enjoyed the time of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies include Memento, Lord of the Rings, Yojimbo, The Big Lebowski, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. For music Gwar, Beastie Boys, Slayer, Polysics, Blue Oyster Cult, Jimi Hendrix, Ministry, Tom Waits, Black Sabbath, and Devo. For Books Lord of the Rings, (again haha) The Pleasure of Finding Things Out, The End of Faith, A Brief History of the Universe. There are lots more in all categories of course. I tend to be something of a critic. Some may say I'm too picky, but I just think I have good taste.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited East and West Berlin before the wall came down.

I know how to repair bicycles. I'm also a decent painter of miniature figurines and I sometimes recite poetry.
