Overview
About Me
I am a mom and a dedicated traveler. I love traveling, with my husband, daughter, both - or alone. I am a potter, a writer, a threshold choir singer, a yoga teacher, among other things. I garden, cook, and hike long distances. I also recently retired (Ah - Covid!) from a professional career in a medical field.
I love deep conversations and making friends. I love all the Couchsurfing experiences I have had so far. It is a fantastic way to get to know real people. What I am NOT is looking for any sort of hook up.
I was a verified member - until the pandemic. Now I am just a lowly unverified couch surfer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the idea of getting to know people, making friendships, getting the inside scoop on the towns to which I travel. I dislike being 'just a tourist', and like being a travel with other people who become friends.
My best memories from my travels are from time when I got to know people. I like getting to know travelers, but it is even more enriching to know the people in the places you travel to. I want to teach my kid to dig deep, not just skim the surface. How better than to walk down the lane with a local host, instead of whirling by them in a bus!
I have no idea why anyone would want to come visit Kalamazoo, but we will see.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can make a great basalmic reduction for topping salmon.
I can teach a song. Or just sing to you. I have 400 threshold and women's songs, or we can just make it up, as in circle singing.
I can teach you the how to make Bread for Dummies version of bread - yeasty and crispy, without the hassle of rising, watching a clock, remembering the punching down.
