About Me

ABOUT ME

An art lover disguised as IT professional :O

I am an open-minded person, I like art, especially visual one.
I also love to travel and experience things. I like to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone.
I like to do mad stuff. I like both extreme and contemplation.
I think I am a controversial person, who likes quite opposite things, but in my philosophy, opposite things are the same things. So.. no controversy in this system :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet new people while traveling, share experiences, stories, culture and philosophy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last autumn I've made a road hitchhiking trip in the south-east France with a friend and it was amazing! I've stayed with couchsurfers and ALL of them were such amazing people! We also met a lot of different people on the road, which just showed me how many good people there are out there. I LOVED hitchhiking and want to do this again!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love blues and jazz music.
I am always interested in author music, whatever style it has.
My favorite bands are such guys like Joy Division, The Cure, Nine Inch nails, some soviet punk (Гражданская оборона),Rock (Агата Кристи), 16 horsepower, Thomas Schoeffler Jr. After my trip to France I listen a lot of FIP radio - a real discovery, a source of new music encounters for me!

My favorite authors are Kerouac, Camus, Dostoevsky.
I am into psychology and philosophy, so I read about these things too.

Cinema - I love it too much! I am a fan of Godard, I love art-house movies. Other directors who I love: David Lynch (of course), Andrey Tarkovsy, Michelangelo Antonioni, Todd Solondz, Mike Lee, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, Werner Herzog, Joao Pedro Rodriguez, Harmony Corine. I am also leaning towards Asian cinema.
I like to visit film festivals (I was on Berlinale x3, Rotterdam film festival, Wroclaw American film festival).
I am not really into big productions, more like independent and personal productions, no budget/low budget movies that express the author.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked in south-east France. Love France! Love hitchhiking!
Climbed a Sinai Mount to see the sunrise

Teach, Learn, Share

I am opened to learn your view on the world and your culture. Would be glad to learn anything you are willing to share!
I am into analogue photography, so I can teach how to develop a photo film and print it in the darkroom.
In terms of languages, i can teach Russian and Ukrainian.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unfortunately currently I don't have a place to host guests :( I am planning to do so in the nearest future, as soon as my accommodation allows it.
However, we can hang out and I can show the city!
