About Me

I'm trying to get to know the world a little step at the time. I have climbed up the Great Wall of China, I have skinny-dipped a hot summer night in the Baltic Sea under the full moonlight, I was bitten by a bullet ant in the deep tropical jungle and lived with the Emberá tribe people, I have stood on the top of a pre-incan pyramid in Lima, I have kissed a beautiful woman sailing the Seine in Paris, I have had my eyelashes freeze at -40 degrees Celsius beyond the Arctic Circle... and it feels like there's a whole world still waiting there to be experienced.

I have lived in Sweden, France, and in the UK. I have been in Europe for about a decade but I was born and raised in Colombia.

This year I will visit Dubai, Australia and Greece for the first time. So I'm super psyched already! Can't wait.

I'm a scientist at Imperial College London.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I have read from Dostoyevsky to Neruda. I read from self-help books to manga. I particularly like fiction but I do not set any limits to my interests. I'm reading now 1Q84 by Murakami... Fascinating book, I'm totally hooked.

Movies/Shows: I watch everything that is out there. I like SciFi, special effects, Japanese animation. Pretty eclectic taste.

Music: I was a lot into reggae, ska and Caribbean music in general... not so much anymore. I enjoy the great composers, party music, son, rock, indie. I'm an open-minded kind of guy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have discovered how the process of oxygenic photosynthesis originated and evolved for the first time.
