About Me
Hi! I grew up in Nome, Alaska (64 degrees North) and moved to the south-central part of the state around 5 years ago as an AmeriCorps Volunteer working in violence prevention. I did community organizing for the prevention of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and bullying. I have a pull toward social justice work that led me to get my Master's in Public Health and work as a research assistant to help collect and report back data for indigenous Alaskans fighting for decolonization and suicide prevention (which are highly related y'all!!).
My creative outlets are improv acting and ceramics. In Homer I work on commission selling the pottery I create, though I went on hiatus for graduate school.
I like people. I like being outside. I'm sort of a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none when it comes to adventure sports. I'm trying to learn how to surf (waves, not just couches :D), I've sea kayaked, I mountain bike a little. I love to nordic ski. In the summer in Alaska we focus so much on harvesting fish and berries and whatever else we can, it's hard to get good at stuff. Especially when you like to try everything as I do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I proposed to my honey after we finished a 23-mile mountain pass trail run by planting signs on the side of the trail and waiting for him to catch up to me. He probably would have been more overwhelmed if he wasn't so tired... LOL.
