About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Working as a Marine Advisory Program agent to supplement my commercial fishing habit.
ABOUT ME
Just a small town boy, living in a lonely world, took the midnight train going anywhere.
PHILOSOPHY
Wow deep concept. Tough to put in words. I think life is about connections, to people, to places, to anything someone feels a deep personal relationship with. It's not about the number of people someone knows, or the number of places a tourist has visited but the relationships they've made and how each one has influenced their life. Plus I hope Karma's real.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Originally I would host and surf occasionally but for two months a buddy and I traveled around the U.S. pretty much couchsurfing the entire way. We met a lot of amazing people who definitely made the inconspicuous areas memorable.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Also see 'How I participate' section.
One of my first experiences was that I couchsurfed in Whitehorse with a young lady named Pam. We basically had a party with all her roommates and couchsurfers who's schedules intertwined, as well as her friends who came over. It was grand.
I couchsurfed in Ireland in this little town called Oranmore, outside of Galway. It was kind of an ideal situation for my first time. Fearghal was my host and not only does the name itself sound cool but it's also Irish and means something deep and intellectual (I assume, actually I forget what it means).
Also I hosted my first surfer a lovely young lass named Rotem from Israel. It was really cool to do some touristy things in my hometown that I hadn't even done yet. Looking forward to more adventures.
Interests
Oh man this could be a dangerously long list. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, running. Recently started getting into rock climbing, pretty sick stuff. Generally if it's new to me and something I will probably be terrible at and embarrass myself in a whole new way, I'm all for it.
I grew up playing sports and therefore I can't resist a game of basketball, football, football American, volleyball, or really any sport. Traveling has always been the strongest influence on my life and probably always will be.
And my intense love of food will definitely lead down a dangerous path in the future but I can't help it, everything is delicious.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, White Men Can't Jump, Boondock Saints, Miracle, Dumb and Dumber, V for Vendetta, The Beach, Memento.
I seem to go through phases, rap, country, oldies, jazz, blues, classical, rock, classic rock, and now I'm doing the Indie thing.
Books, another deadly subject. As an English grad I always need to be reading at least one book at any given time. Just finished Les Miserables (The abridged English version)and Count of Monte Cristo. I like to rotate a classic piece of literature with a recent fun book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How about two truths one lie:
1. I've fallen through ice into a frozen river in the middle of winter.
2. I've lived in 13 countries.
3. I've swam with sharks.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a teacher but I have the distinct feeling that I'll be a student all my life and the moment I stop learning is the moment I stop living.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, drink and hopefully plenty of laughs. I'll compromise to have food and drink with a few smiles though.
