CURRENT MISSION: Live vicariously through others' travels as I save up for my next adventure. ABOUT ME: LGBTQ activist, traveler, student, writer, intersectional feminist, wine and food lover, distance runner, nature junkie After finishing my MA, I backpacked for six months, visiting 53 countries in that time period. I just moved to NYC and am working to save up for the next adventure. I can be slightly shy at first, but really love getting to know new people - it just takes me a bit to warm up and really start talking. PHILOSOPHY Life is short and there's too much to do in the world so try everything you can and jump on every opportunity you're able.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I stayed with hosts throughout my time backpacking, and now I'm excited to pay it forward to other backpackers visiting the city.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Currently digging Barenaked Ladies, Grouplove, Eric Hutchinson, The Derek Trucks Band, Us The Duo, and Donavon Frankenreiter. I love instrumental covers of songs - Vitamin String Quartet is incredible for this. Introduce me to your favourite stuff - I love almost everything. Movies: I'm a sucker for animated kid's movies - Mulan, Inside Out, Shrek, Frozen, Up, etc. I also love documentaries (but always take them with a grain of salt). TV: Parks and Rec, Friends, Shameless, Fresh Meat, Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Lost. Books: Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg is hands down my favourite book. Gone Girl is also wonderful. I love Dan Brown and Jodi Picoult. Currently going through a random obsession with vampire novels. And even though Harry Potter was a staple growing up for most people my age, I'm just now reading them and am completely obsessed.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Dropped everything to travel around the world Paragliding in the Swiss Alps Skydiving in New Zealand Trans-Siberian railroad in the dead of winter Hitch-hiked to the Great Wall 42 hour train ride in a hard seat from Lhasa, Tibet to Beijing
What I Can Share With Hosts
Good conversation, and hopefully lots of laughter and a new friendship.
