Overview
About Me
I am a Canadian ex-pat living in Japan, and I have lived in Wakayama, Aichi (Nagoya), Tokyo (Mitaka), and Saitama (Sayama). I am vegan, I like cats and tea, and bicycles. In Canada I worked as a ski and snowboard instructor.
I'm not a big fan of cilantro though.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to help people out by offering a place to stay, and meet new people from many different countries! I especially want to help out vegetarians or vegans in Japan because that can be really tough!
Interests
I love cooking and food! I also like fitness and exploring new places. As of March 2017 (5.3 years in Japan) I have ridden an estimated 20,000 km on my road bike and mamachari. I've been to 35 prefectures so far and several of those were by bicycle!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I rode from Hyogo prefecture to Nagoya in 16 hours carrying 5 kg of camping gear on my bicycle.
I also rode a 100 km race in a typhoon once.
In addition to working as a Canadian ski and snowboard instructor, I have also worked at three different factories :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I will teach you English, French or Japanese.
I will share rice and my expertise of cooking (or how to make a dish vegan :)
I work as an English teacher for children aged 6 - 14 and I love talking with kids. I have also taught ages 2 - 5.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you Japanese, translate things to Japanese (or French... or Japanese to English!) and I can draw things too. Also I can lift moderately heavy things, cook food, and wash dishes.
