Overview
About Me
I'm from the Midwest, but I feel most at home when traveling. I feel most alive when I'm outdoors, whether it be in the mountains, the forest, or just my backyard. My favorite places to visit have been Yosemite, Red River Gorge, the Bay area, and Mt. Rainier National Park.
I'm a runner, novice climber, and craft enthusiast. I love listening to live music (and you won't often find me not playing music).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested after several of my friends introduced me to the couch surfing community. I've seen them meet wonderful friends through this site, and now I hope to find fellow friends on my journey. I want to hear all about where you've been, what you've done, and what you can teach.
I'm also on because I work as a counselor for 9 months (August-May). I try to travel as much as possible for the other 3 months each year, and couch surfing lets me meet wonderful people along the way!
Interests
Cooking with clean, organic ingredients has been something I want to get into, hopefully with a focus on learning to forage my own food.
I enjoy being outdoors as much as I can. I'm especially interested running, camping, rock climbing, and hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite authors are Kurt Vonnegut & Douglas Adams. I'm usually in the middle of three or more books because I like to mix up my genres. The most recent books I've read have been "Want Not", "The Illustrated Man", "Tripping" and "I am Malala."
My music tastes are wide and eclectic, mostly rock but with some electronica, blues, folk, and pop mixed in. I'll listen to anything from The Beatles, Royksopp, Bon Iver, OMD, The Family Crest....the list goes on
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2014 I went up Mt. Rainier to Ingram Flats and Camp Muir. It was amazing to be above the clouds and watch the sunrise and sunset.
