About Me

I am an electrical engineering student at UMO. I enjoy socializing with my friends with a movie or a board game. I also enjoy playing rugby, hanging out with my girlfriend, and playing with my dog.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I grew up in a quiet little town in a very rural place. And my picture of the world as always been very small. People make the world, so by both hosting and surfing, I hope to widen that image I have. People are always fascinating, and usually kind. This community helps cement that idea.
I also like helping people. Giving some one a place for the night, pointing them in the right direction, or even just answering a quick question. Yes, I want to get to know a person, to have that cultural exchange, but I find it important to just simply help another human.

Interests

I enjoy play fiddle music. I grew up being train classical violinist, and would later add fiddle music to my list of performance pieces. I love any type of music though, and I will try playing them with anyone. I enjoy playing rugby. And if anything involves water, I love it. I scuba dive, although I haven't had much chance to dive as where I live the water is super dark and murky. I also enjoy reading, YouTube, (big follower of the community) and learning.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music changes so much it's hard to say. Lindsey Stirling is interesting. Pentatonix are wonderful, and the Piano guys are great evening chill out tracks. Also love Jack Johnson, Joshua Bell, some Michael Jackson, and Eminem. Favorite books would have to be Leviathan, Ender's Game, and Eragon. But H.G. Wells as some great things as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Preformed in concert in front of 3,000 people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach violin, classical and fiddle music. If your English is patchy, I can help with that. I'd also love to learn more French. I did some French in school, and I could really use some practise.
I can share about my experiences backpacking around for the last (1-4) months depending on when I potentially meet you :)
I grew up on a homestead, if you have any questions about self sufficiency or just raising herbs on your balcony, I could help with that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A conversation. I like to think I am a good listener and I strive to do better. Or I can share what knowledge I have of living in Maine and being extremely self reliant and semi-selfsuficitant. I can wash dishes too. Or teach a violin lesson or two. Anything I am capable of helping with, I will try to help, within reason.
