Overview
About Me
I live here in the Pacific Northwest. Just outside The Dalles, Oregon. I was Born Not far from here, at home in my Grandparents Farmhouse. I grew up around horses, cows, etc. and a simple, connected to the land farm life, with history all about me. Stories from my grandfather of the old country before and during the Great War. A love for history grew as learned more and saw more growing older traveling the country as a bus driver and roady for a band in my teens. I learned hands on skills from my father and grand fathers, construction, welding, woodworking. I love creating things with my hands, I love to barter and trade information and skills. I believe there is something to learn from every one if we are willing to listen. I like to live simple, years in the fast paced business world left me yearning for a slower debt free life. Over time I am getting closer, through life's ups and downs twists and turns. I do my best to eat as organic and local of food as I can get. I raise chickens for our own eggs and have a garden. Health is very important to me, I do my best to avoid chemicals in my body. I find a positive outlook always makes me feel better. Do good unto others and live as a non aggressor. I firmly believe in free speech even if I don't agree with it. Being honest and respectful, asking " how am I showing love?" I love to teach the skills I have learned; to Tinker with this and that, and come up with wonderful and useful creations.
I am single, and have my 2 adult children, and a disabled Veteran couple on site.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couch surfing because I have traveled a lot in the past and know how hard it can be to travel on a budget, and would like to be able to help. I love meeting new people and making friends. I have a good amount of room, The house has several guest rooms and couches if beds are occupied. 2 bathrooms and out door facilities. Located just outside city limits surrounded by woods & landscaping it provides a surprisingly quite and secluded atmosphere. We have a large front yard with year-round stream. and a very private back yard. Large garden with meditation & relaxation areas. Out door camping , covered out door kitchen with water.
