CURRENT MISSION To love all! ABOUT ME Married for a long ass time. Both of us love music, laughing, sharing stories, dancing, staying up late, going on adventures, changing plans, and feeling the freedom. After 5 years of doing all the right stuff (get careers, buy a house, start a retirement fund, etc....) we decided to leave it all behind and embark on a worldwide adventure. 2 years later here we are, landed in Montreal. Laura - vegetarian, believer in food over medicine, hairstylist, yoga lover, interested in the earth and universe, daydreamer, new to acro and the world of hula hooping, and addicted to face paint. Theo - artist, activist, adventurer, anarchist, lover, traveller, philosopher, friend to all. PHILOSOPHY Laura: Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. - Dr. Seuss (he says the best things!) Theo: Keep and open mind and go with the flow. Don't take life too seriously, there doesn't seem to be a right or wrong way to go through it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING We have only ever surfed but are almost ready to open up our couch cushions to the beautiful people of the world. We have had some of the best times and memories with CS'ing and don't plan to have them stop anytime soon. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE We had to take a 3 month break from travelling and while back in Canada we successfully couchsurfed for the ENTIRE time. We were homeless in our own town and never had a night on the streets. CS'ing to us is a time for fun and learning knew ways of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of our collective favourites are Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Modest Mouse, the Beatles, Dan Mangan, MuteMath, and Wintersleep, but that is a very small list. Theo's favourite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, George Orwell, CS Lewis, Jack Kerouak and Bill Watterson - Calvin and Hobbes comics have had a big influence on me (Theo), I was pretty much raised by that kid and his Tiger.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

We shut down two businesses, sold a whole house worth of things, rented said house, and took off with a couple of backpacks. The real amazing things though, have come since: - Hitchhiking through Fiji with new friends - Scuba Diving with Sharks - Witnessed a Total Solar Eclipse in the Australian dessert with 10,000 other hippies - Travelled through Australia living in a van - Lived with Bluegrass musicians in Nashville - Lived in a music studio/commune for 6 weeks - Raised 5 children for 3 months - Moved to a city we don't know the language of - Motorcycled the 762 curves from Pai to Chiang Mai, Thailand

Between the two of us you have a musician, chef, and hairstylist under one roof. We can teach, play, and record music, cook cool veggie meals, cut your hair and tell stories about the experiences we've had and people we've met in our working days.

My Interests

The big one is music for both of us and it doesn't really matter what kind. Play a tune, get us moving, dance around and have a laugh. This year we have expanded from yoga to acro, but are still pretty amateur at the latter. Laura is starting to hula hoop in her spare time as well, so if you can do these things let us know! Always looking to learn :)
