ABOUT ME

I live with my tent-mate Baden at Philmont Scout Ranch, where we proudly call ourselves Philmont Rangers.

I was born Andrew Michael Spence Boyd in Lubbock Texas in 1988. I grew up in Georgetown, TX just north of Austin. In high school I was in the band playing trumpet and was also a cadet in the NJROTC program. In 2004, I attended the National Youth Leadership Conference on Defense, Intelligence, and Diplomacy.

I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2013. In college I was in Alpha Phi Omega, Army ROTC for a time, and worked at my university's computer help desk. I also went to England, Ireland, and Wales on a study abroad trip: Studies in Irish Modernism.

Philmont Scout Ranch oriented the map of my life. This is my third season on Philmont Staff, and I aspire to "Change Lives" every day in my job.
