About Me

Hello everyone! I'm Theresa, or Tessa for short, I'm 26 years old and from the beautiful south of Germany. After following a traditional path of education until the year of 2012, when I graduated high school, I took two "gap years" where I did lots of travelling, a little bit of working and a lot of actual learning about myself, people and the world. After that I returned to the "real world" having found a field of education I could actually enjoy which combines different cultures, languages, history and literature. I've been majoring in Scandinavian Studies since 2015 and have studied in Freiburg/Germany as well as Helsinki/Finland. Right now I work as a climbing instructor at a high rope course park and am in the last few stretches of converting a van to my new full time home. I will be studying ceramics at Mullsjö Folkhögskola in Sweden living in my van from late august to sometime next year and then maybe also do get my Masters degree back in Germany.

"Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you."
"Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth."
-Rumi

"Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller."
-Ibn Battuta

"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us."
-Anonymous

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."
-Saint Augustine

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing to me is a wonderful way to travel, to meet open minded and exciting new people and a great way to experience new cultures from the best possible place - the home of a local. And on top of that it's absolutely free! How cool is that?

I'm giving my best at trying to be a nice and pleasant guest and - when I'm given the opportunity - a forthcoming and informative host.
