About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission objective is to actually BEGIN TRAVELING. I'm thru-hiking Northbound from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail 12' and would like to visit some of the towns/cities full of awesome people who enjoy the company of open-minded foLks!
ABOUT ME
Funny, Adventurous, Open Minded, Generous, Compassionate, Supportive, Confident, Grateful
I guess they'd talk about some memories involving laughs, smiles, and engaging conversations. Life is boring if you can't have a good time with those you share company with. I accept people for how different they are from one individual to the next, and that is why I have all sorts of different demographics within my social circles. There is plenty of things we can learn from each other, each and every day, and it is those opportunities to experience education that I look forward to.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others with the same respect you expect to receive in return. Money can't buy you love, so find the things in life that are priceless: don't chase the dollar, replace the dollar
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I had experiences with CS before knowing this population existed. Enjoying the conversations and feeling like everyone wanted to get to know each other was pretty cool. Signing up for CS was something I thought would be helpful in traveling the AT, and so far its been great =)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with a friend who I had met in 09' who hosted some CSurfers the year after. It was a lot of fun meeting them, and we had a great time together. Since then, I have only met one CS group during my visit off the AT to Asheville, NC. Everyone, again, was relaxed and easygoing about socializing and getting together to hang. Lookin fwd to more CS gatherings.
Interests
The outdoors: Hiking, Camping, Basketball, Beaches (basically, fresh air and simple exercise)
The arts: lyricism, graF, urban cartooning, Criterion Collection Cinema, Documentaries (reading anxiety)
Professional sports: Philadelphia Eagles, New York Knicks, Arsenal Gunners. (I'm a HUGE Eagles fan)
Being creative in general, is something that attracts me. Whether it is forming new solutions in an effort of teamwork, or exploring new ways to communicate flavor in the kitchen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had backpacked the Connecticut section of the Appalachian Trail with my father in October 11'. We had been on the trail for 5 days and nights, and during our 6th day happened upon a place known as Rand's View. To have been working so hard while learning to live with the constant discomfort of carrying an extra 53 pounds on one's back, I still maintained the enthusiasm for discovery. And the viewpoint of Rand's View was uplifting and intimidating at the same time. I was reminded of how beautiful the symphony of New England's autumn foliage can become, and how impressively stoic the size of mountains laying in wait were. We stopped for quite a while, to bask in the sunlit meditation of efforts awarded in gorgeous landscape. It was this simple experience that ignited my commitment to a complete through-hike of the Appalachian Trail, which I immediately began planning on my return to the practical life full of conventional household staples. I will begin my hike in Amicolola Springs, Georgia on March 17/18, 2012, with my very stable and responsible friend Bruce Richard, and we aim to hike over 2,186 Miles through 14 states to Baxter State Park, Maine, and up Mount Katahdin.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching about life is by sharing the life you've lived. If we can learn from the mistakes made by others, we can only find the real value in change. When we make mistakes ourselves, we must realize that the price we pay is the currency of consequence.
