About Me

I've been living in Shanghai for 18 years since 2000,when I graduated from my university in Wuhan(which is the capital of Hubei province,China,I had been there studying for 4 years).I was born in Luoyang, the 2nd biggest city in Henan province, where is famous for peony and lots of historical sites(Luoyang is one of the 7 most famous ancient capitals in China).

How to describe myself.In a few words,I will choose "punctual","hard working","willing to know new things,new people,new places","easygoing","liking sports".

Uhh,something special:I had been serving in the Chinese Navy for 12 years,so I have lots of stories wanting to share with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can't remember when I knowed the word "couchsurf" for the first time. It's a new word for me but it is easy to literally understand the meaning of it.When I opened the homepage of couchsurf,I was grabbed by its slogan at the firt glimps:Meet and Stay with Locals All Over the World .

I also think it is a great idea for the people to share with others something they own,not only the rooms, couch, but also the expericene, the feeling...people would enjoy some exotic things during the stay with the local hosts and of course, the hosts will know many different people ,especially from foreign countries.

Start my way in couchsurf!

Music, Movies, and Books

In recent years,my most favorite Chinese song is 《Night of Ulan Bator》,which is performed by Tan Weiwei,a Chinese singer born in Sichuan province. The original version is from Mongolia, and she changed the lyric to memorize her father. This song got rewarded in a famous Chinese singing show:I AM A SINGER.
For the English song,I love 《Country Road,Take Me Home》I really enjoy the tune in this countryside song.

Yes,my favorite movie is 《Shawshank Redemption》.We family all enjoy this movie. For another,I prefer 《Brave Heart》,which is starred by Mel Gibson.

My favorite book is 《曾国藩》 written by Tang Haoqiang.Actually I admire this person:(1807-1872) key official in suppressing the Taiping Rebellion and creating the era known as the Tongzhi Restoration.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One Amazing Thing I've Done
I once swam across a river which is around 1km wide in 2005.Why I'm saying it's amazing?Because I learned to how to swim only 1 week before I went into the river and finally I swam across it to get to the opposite bank.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are interested in Chinese culture,I can teach you the knowledges of Chinese tea and how to make a perfect cup of tea. There are many kinds of tea,and for each kind of them, the method of making it taste well is very different:the amout of water;the temperature of water;some tea should be made by high glass cups;some tea should be made by short glass cups;some tea shoud be made by china cups;the procedures are also very different.

I'm learning English,so if you're a native English speaker or you can speak English really well,I would appreciate.

I'm very familiay with Shanghai, especially the tour spots in it.It is not only because I've been here fo 18 years, but also because I do much research about them.I can share with you some of the sceneries's historical stories, they are interesting and you can know this city more by the stories.
At the same time,I have a car.I mean if I am available ,I can pick you up in the airport ,or railway station and drive you around Shanghai,it is the most morden city in China, and there are many historical spots as well.
Of course,if you want to leanr Chinese,it will be great to exchane our language, sounds so great!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Recently,I don't have plans to go travelling by couchsurfing.Because I always travel with my wife and my daughter.I think it will be not convenient for us to be hosted in .
Maybe in the near future,I will have a try.I will bring with me with some good quality chinese tea and I can share with the host with my Chinese stories.
