About Me
Born in 1963, studied journalism at the University of Missouri, raised Southern Baptist... oh wait sorry, that's Brad Pitt. I'm just a Polish-Canadian doctor living between Glasgow.

🏠 House Rules – Please Read Before Coming
🫱 Mutual respect: This is the foundation. Respect my space, my rhythm of life, and anyone else who might be around.
🧼 Cleanliness: Always clean up after yourself (bathroom, kitchen, room, etc.). Leave the place as you found it.
📞 Communication: Let me know in advance about your arrival time or if your plans change.
🚫 No extra guests: Don’t bring anyone over without asking me first.
🍳 Kitchen use: Feel free to cook, but wash your dishes right after we eat and keep the area tidy.
🕒 Respect the schedule: Try to be quiet late at night or early in the morning if I’m sleeping or busy. (admittedly can be a bit hard with my creaky floors but try your best!)
🌍 Cultural exchange: I'm here to meet people, not just offer a free bed. Share your story, music, ideas, or a dish from your country!
🛌 Short stays: Preferably host 1-4 nights.
😄 Flexibility and good vibes: Life is easier when we stay chill and easygoing 🌈
🛍️ Be self-sufficient: Do your own grocery shopping, cook your meals, manage your day. I'm not a hotel or tour guide 😄 If I’m free, I’ll be happy to join, but please be autonomous too.
🙅 Don’t touch my stuff without asking: Just a matter of respect.
💬 Talk to me: If something bothers you or if you need something, just tell me! I'm open and happy to talk—better to share than keep things inside.

💡 Before sending a request, please read these few tips:
👉I usually don't accept empty profiles. Please take a moment to introduce yourself, add a few photos (with a clear face), and make your message personal.
👉I don’t host just to give a free place to sleep – it’s about connection. If you come to my home, I’d love to share a moment, a meal, a story – not just a bed.
👉I work a lot, but I host to meet people, learn about cultures, and have real exchanges. If your plan is to stay on your own without talking much, it’s better to look for another host.
👉Please send your request at least one day before your arrival, unless it’s a last-minute emergency.
👉If I accept your request, confirm your arrival on Couchsurfing. And if your plans change, let me know at least the day before – it's just respectful.
👉When I travel, I always try to bring a little gift, cook a meal, or show appreciation with kindness. If you have the same mindset, we’ll have a great time!
✨ If this sounds good to you, I’ll be happy to welcome you. If not, no worries – there are many different kinds of hosts out there 😊

⚠️ CS Is NOT...
🚫 Not a free Airbnb – I like sharing and exchanging experiences
🚫 Not a dating app – Respect is everything
Just bring good vibes and openness. If I host you or we hang out, just be yourself and we’ll get along great 🙌
🔔 Note:
I usually prefer receiving requests in advance, but if you're in an emergency situation 🚨 — especially if you're a solo female traveler 👩🦰 facing any trouble (bad hosting experience, feeling unsafe, etc.) — don't hesitate to message me anytime 💬.
I'll do my best to help if I’m available 🤝.
(Full disclosure, a lot of this house rules section was taken from my CS friend Assil with his permission haha. But it was just so well written and thought out that I wanted to add it to my profile. )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best way to get yourself immersed into a culture is by actually staying with someone who lives there. There's just no better way to experience a new place if you're looking to truly get to know it well.
Plus it's a great way to meet new people and possibly make a friend or two, which I am always open to!
In 2024, I went on a year-long trip through South America where I used CS a lot, and it was one of my favorite parts of the year! It really is a great community!
