Born in 1963, studied journalism at the University of Missouri, raised Southern Baptist... oh wait sorry, that's Brad Pitt. I'm just a Polish-Canadian doctor living between Glasgow. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ๐ House Rules โ Please Read Before Coming ๐ซฑ Mutual respect: This is the foundation. Respect my space, my rhythm of life, and anyone else who might be around. ๐งผ Cleanliness: Always clean up after yourself (bathroom, kitchen, room, etc.). Leave the place as you found it. ๐ Communication: Let me know in advance about your arrival time or if your plans change. ๐ซ No extra guests: Donโt bring anyone over without asking me first. ๐ณ Kitchen use: Feel free to cook, but wash your dishes right after we eat and keep the area tidy. ๐ Respect the schedule: Try to be quiet late at night or early in the morning if Iโm sleeping or busy. (admittedly can be a bit hard with my creaky floors but try your best!) ๐ Cultural exchange: I'm here to meet people, not just offer a free bed. Share your story, music, ideas, or a dish from your country! ๐ Short stays: Preferably host 1-4 nights. ๐ Flexibility and good vibes: Life is easier when we stay chill and easygoing ๐ ๐๏ธ Be self-sufficient: Do your own grocery shopping, cook your meals, manage your day. I'm not a hotel or tour guide ๐ If Iโm free, Iโll be happy to join, but please be autonomous too. ๐ Donโt touch my stuff without asking: Just a matter of respect. ๐ฌ Talk to me: If something bothers you or if you need something, just tell me! I'm open and happy to talkโbetter to share than keep things inside. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ๐ก Before sending a request, please read these few tips: ๐I usually don't accept empty profiles. Please take a moment to introduce yourself, add a few photos (with a clear face), and make your message personal. ๐I donโt host just to give a free place to sleep โ itโs about connection. If you come to my home, Iโd love to share a moment, a meal, a story โ not just a bed. ๐I work a lot, but I host to meet people, learn about cultures, and have real exchanges. If your plan is to stay on your own without talking much, itโs better to look for another host. ๐Please send your request at least one day before your arrival, unless itโs a last-minute emergency. ๐If I accept your request, confirm your arrival on Couchsurfing. And if your plans change, let me know at least the day before โ it's just respectful. ๐When I travel, I always try to bring a little gift, cook a meal, or show appreciation with kindness. If you have the same mindset, weโll have a great time! โจ If this sounds good to you, Iโll be happy to welcome you. If not, no worries โ there are many different kinds of hosts out there ๐ ----------------------------------------------------------------- โ ๏ธ CS Is NOT... ๐ซ Not a free Airbnb โ I like sharing and exchanging experiences ๐ซ Not a dating app โ Respect is everything Just bring good vibes and openness. If I host you or we hang out, just be yourself and weโll get along great ๐ (Full disclosure, a lot of this house rules section was taken from my CS friend Assil with his permission haha. But it was just so well written and thought out that I wanted to add it to my profile. )

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
The best way to get yourself immersed into a culture is by actually staying with someone who lives there. There's just no better way to experience a new place if you're looking to truly get to know it well. Plus it's a great way to meet new people and possibly make a friend or two, which I am always open to! In 2024, I went on a year-long trip through South America where I used CS a lot, and it was one of my favorite parts of the year! It really is a great community!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Arcade Fire, blink-182, Bo Burnham, The Chainsmokers, Fallout Boy, Fleetwood Mac, Kid Cudi, Linkin Park, The Lumineers, Muse, My Chemical Romance, Pink Floyd, Queen, System of a Down Movies: Inception, Interstellar, Inside Out, Soul, most superhero movies Books: Most recently 1984 and Animal Farm both blew my mind
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Went to Antarctica! ๐ฆ๐ถ ๐ง And subsequently stepped foot in every continent within the same year! I ran at least a mile a day, every day, for over 2 years! This dance video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG8UFObU50Q A year-long backpacking trip, wildest year of my life!
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that a varied life is an interesting one, so I'm always looking for new experiences!
What I Can Share With Hosts
Great chat and company! I also enjoy cooking so I am happy to cook something that we can share together, and we can go out for drinks or out on the town! I also have really enjoyed doing language exchanges with others: I can teach you English if you can help improve my Polish/French/Spanish!
My Interests
Variety is the spice of life, as I always say, so I have quite the range of interests and I'm always open to exploring new ones. Among my top interests: - alpine skiing, especially backcountry - music; listening to it, playing it, singing it, dancing to it; I just really love music of several genres - movies and tv, I have even dabbled in filmmaking a tiny bit - running, hiking, long walks through new places - video games, I am a huge gamer when I find the time! - philosophy (I even do a philosophy podcast with my brother, you can find it by looking for โI Think Therefore I Googleโ) - cooking - plenty more!
