About Me
** INFO **
We don't have a proper guest room so we offer a couch (that's basically the essence of CouchSurfing, right? :D) or a guest bed with room separators for some privacy. So just request a stay and we'll discuss our availability. You will for 100% always receive a timely reply!
** Short term requests **
Write on Telegram: https://t.me/thonixx - that's the best way to reach me if it's urgent.
** Getting there / location **
We live in a small village between Schaffhausen and Winterthur. With public transportation we are reachable but it takes some time. Look up your schedules with https://www.sbb.ch with destination "Truttikon" ;)
When arriving/leaving later than 20:43 we will gladly arrange pick-up at the train stations "Andelfingen" or "Ossingen" - Winterthur or Schaffhausen would also be fine.
Since August 2021 we have a lovely and cute Husky mix :)
Maybe boring but nice to know:
I am a computer scientist working in a Linux environment in Zurich. I like traveling by public transit (mainly by trains) and to other countries. I am very open minded about foreign countries, cultures and especially food (as long as I find something vegetarian or vegan :D).
I am happy with this:
I love Asian cuisine and I always eat Indian, Thai, Chinese and similar. Besides Asian food I also like Swiss traditional "cheesy" cuisine. Arabic and Turkish food is also nice.
I am interested in a lot of things especially related to IT and media.
Besides food and IT I really love pets. My parents had several cats and dogs and therefore I grew up having pets. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am searching for adventures by staying at other peoples places. I also try to provide an interesting and entertaining stay. I'd like to get known to people from around the globe.
Important thing: I love to travel.. not to tourism! So I am happiest aside the tourism streams.
I like doing crazy stuff and I am very spontaneous towards new ideas and adventures. I would like to show you around my place but if you do not like the usual tourist stuff I assure you showing some nice spots besides all the general tourism. We also could do some Geocaching together to find little treasures hidden throughout the world.
Interests
My favourite leisure time activity is Geocaching. I like to hunt little treasures by GPS and discover foreign places where you would not end up without Geocaching. So don't wonder when I constantly keep looking on my iPhone for the next nearby geocache.
My other interests are IT, media, general technical things and animals.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Psytrance (and generally Goa sound) 🕉.
Regarding movies I like Drama, Thriller, Horror and Action as well as Independence films. My favourite film is and will always be Cloud Atlas. I love the mix of different timelines and protagonists within the same story. I always watch films in original language since I like the original voices. Only original feels just right.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the meantime I think I've done 2 amazing things, so I'll allow telling you not just one amazing I've done.
For my 30th birthday (in 2022) I teamed up with my husband and an old friend to organise our first own Goa triple birthday party with artists from Austria, Italy and Germany. We had about 40 guests, 3 artists and about 7.5 hours of the finest psytrance :) Check them out on SoundCloud: FuTurum SonaT, MoodMode, Timo Lissy, Metaprog and Leads - they deserve to become known 🕉. We rented a location in the small town "Wil SG" which usually only plays Punk, Rock and Indie but everyone was amazed by the spirit of the party with lots of happiness, joy and peacefulness - even the event location owners. I think we now know how to party :D.
Second amazing thing I've done (2016):
Between a job change I had some weeks spare time in May/June 2016 where I spontaneously decided to go for an Interrail journey across Europa. Interrail (also called Eurail) is an offer where you can travel all Europe by trains (also some ferries and buses) making your own story.
So I bought the Interrail pass and some night train reservations only about a week before I went on the journey. I started in Zurich and travelled from Switzerland to Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, France, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Wales, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy (I also have been in Vatican City), Austria and Switzerland.
I was travelling about 13'000 km by trains, ferries, buses, planes. I took 7 night trains, 2 flights (from Oslo to Warsaw and Lisbon to Rome - the last one beacuse the french railways striked), 2 ferries and I slept at 6 hostels, 1 hotel, 4 couchsurfers and found over 200 geocaches on my way across Europe. Also I have been in 14 different states in total.
I visited those cities specifically:
Copenhagen, Malmö, Stockholm, Oslo, Warsaw, Paris, London, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff, Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome (incl. Vatican City), Venice
What I Can Share with Hosts
As already told above I really love Asian food. Also I am vegetarian (but trying to eat more vegan) and I like to cook my own meals. So if you stay here you will for sure get as much food as you'd like to have.
Also I can show you around the village or if you like it bigger I can guide you through Zurich city. There are many nice places in Zurich, Schaffhausen (Rhine Falls), Winterthur, St. Gallen and around.
There is an original Nintendo 64. What about a Mario Kart game together? Or a Mario Party game? Oh I would love Mario Party xD.
