About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on exchange in Utrecht, Netherlands for the year! I haven't seen any of Europe and so I really hope to travel as much as possible. I want to experience more than boring youth hostels and museum tours and hope you all can provide some insider tips!

Everyone's a native somewhere!

Interests

Very interested in conscious consumerism. I'm trying a new weekday vegetarian eating habit and do my best to avoid any material goods derived from animals. That being said, I'm a sucker for a well grilled steak every once in a while.

Minimalism is key! Always pick a new adventure over a material possession.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Bell Jar, What the Dog Saw, Fight Club, Looking for Alaska

Films: Good Will Hunting, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, (500) Days of Summer

Music: mainly blues, R&B, alternative, but pretty much anything! Country music is my guilty pleasure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Held a huge wild stingray and gave her a kiss!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about canadian politics (my field of study), tell me about your country's politics!

I can play the saxophone, and am learning guitar... always looking for tutors

I really enjoy film and media although I've predominantly been exposed American and Canadian cinema. What are your recommendations?

Local colloquialisms fascinate me, especially in foreign languages!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always prefer asking a living breathing person. What restaurant should I try? what book do you recommend? Any tips on how to find the best bargain? The internet certainly has its use but theres something to be said about trusting the person right in front of you. I love the interaction... feel so much more human.

I'll share my opinions and hopefully you can too!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cayman Islands, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, England, France, Hungary, Iceland, Jamaica, Mexico, Slovakia, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
