About Me

ABOUT ME

Adventurous, happy, caring and friendly.

PHILOSOPHY

The important thing is to be able to sacrifice what you have now, for what you can become! (Charles Dubois)

Do your best even when you think it doesn't count... many times when you least expect it, you will find out that it did! (Mike Mullane)

After sometime, you may find that HAVING is NOT as SATISFYING as WANTING, illogical... but very often true. (Spock)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As soon as i can clean, sort, and organize the numerous boxes of 'junk' around my house, I will be able to help out a fellow couch-surfer, or 2. (Which is why i didn't contact anyone needing a couch until after the 1st week in August!) :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted once (very pleasant) and might CouchSurf for the first time if Wisconsin qualifies for the Big Ten Championship game in December! :)

...but in the middle of June i caught a ride from Baton Rouge to the westside of Houston with Sam (a very pleasant geophysicist who had CouchSurfed in BR before he drove to Houston). The way Sam described CouchSurfing, i just had to look into it and before leaving the site, i had decided to sign-up!

Interests

In my younger days it would be thrill-seeking and exploring the wonders of nature.
These days it is a more relaxing enjoyment of my surroundings.
...and finding someone who will provide a loving and safe home for the 2 puppies I found on highway 63.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being able to experience "zero-gravity" (actually, microgravity) on the "vomit comet" with other science teacher thanks to Weightless flights of Discoveries.
Hiking to the top of Half-Dome only to see 20-30 people up there already! LOL
Hiking from Many Glaciers to Logan's Pass with the view of Bird Woman falls in front of me.
Hiking down (backwards) and back up Bright-Angel/South Kaibab trails in the Grand Canyon.

Teach, Learn, Share

From the song _Scarlet Begonias_:

"Well, I ain't always right but I've never been wrong.
Seldom turns out the way it does in a song.
Once in a while you get shown the light
In the strangest of places if you look at it right."

How very true! :)
