About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Taiwan born and raised medical doctor, now working in Boston, USA. Passionate about traveling, learning about other cultures and languages, exploring all sorts of possibilities.
ABOUT ME
I am currently an internal medicine trained doctor working in Boston, but due to my generous time I have off, I often find myself exploring another city.
I am enthusiastic, passionate and quite easygoing guy who appreciates the good things in life. Most of my friends agree that I am a funny person. Insane at times, they also say.
My deepest passion has always been travel, and because of my love and dream of traveling, I discovered another lifelong interest-learning languages and getting to know other cultures. I'm always looking forward to knowing new people, locals and travelers alike, that really spices up my life.
I make it a rule not to travel to a country without speaking the local language at a somewhat basic conversational level, and when traveling I prefer understanding a country or region thoroughly, rather than seeing just the highlights. Thanks to our versatile curriculum, my university offered many exchange opportunities, and I did some clinical exchange in Thailand, Japan, France and Germany, one month in each country. It really was an awesome experience, I can now brag about being an expat in four countries haha. Now I'm almost finished with my studies, but I've decided to take an year off to explore more opportunities. : )
If anybody wants to know more about me or if you are interested in visiting Taiwan or Boston, feel free to send me a message! Currently I can't host, but I'm always interested in meeting new people and making new friends from all over the world.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe diem. You only live once (but also only die once hehe)
Life is too short and to world is too big to enjoy fully. Live every moment to the fullest, love your dear ones to the fullest, and appreciate all that does not ruin you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't really surfed at somebody's house, but I've been to several CS meetings around the world. I was also part of a volunteer group that helped international students integrate into life in Taiwan. That was pretty much hosting them, helping them with different aspects of life, being a tour guide and in turn I was rewarded friends from all over the world.
Interests
I enjoy travel. I love seeing new places, meeting new people, and experiencing local culture.
I also enjoy the process before the travel, looking up practical information, understanding the background and history, all this makes it possible that I get the fullest from this experience, and this ensures that I bring home more than good memories.
Last but not least, sharing my experience with other travelers is very important, to inspire them and tell them the greatness of this world.
What makes this world awesome is the diversity and differences.
We travel to discover, to learn and to share.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hunting with native Atayal tribesmen in Taiwan, experienced trap-making and used a hand-crafted rifle.
Experiencing corrida de toros among passionate madrileños in Las Ventas bullring.
Passing for a local and watching Muay Thai kickboxing match in Lumphini Boxing Studium.
First time experiencing scuba diving and the pain the water pressure did to my ears.
